My skin felt fresh, hydrated, smooth, and glowing afterward. The atmosphere was calm and welcoming. I will definitely be coming back and highly recommend this spa.”
“We have a dog, so read this with that in mind. We choose this place because it proudly claims to be dog friendly, and mostly it was! The rooms were gorgeous, with amazing views and outside access. Little terraces for each room are so nice. We stayed in this area specifically to visit Butchart Gardens and to be in a more naturalistic place. The resort ferried us and our dog to the gardens directly from their marina in a little zodiac (~$20/person RT, dog free). Super special way to go and highly recommended. The downsides to the resort are few. I took a star off for service because of them, but the staff were all perfect. One downside is no place to dine accompanied by our dog other than room service. They have a great bar with a patio but don't allow dogs on the patio. This just took us completely by surprise as we've never heard of an outdoor patio off limits to dogs. So we didn't have a single meal at the resort for our entire stay. The Seahorse was fantastic though, right next door on the water, and they couldn't have been more accommodating. We did get lattes in the lobby bar one morning. Pretty sure it was Nespresso (didn't actually see them make it), so not terrible, but not ideal. They were better than anything else we could find in the town of Brentwood. Another odd thing is they use the hallway around the spa to stage their housekeeping carts so it's a tight squeeze past half a dozen mop buckets and garbage bins to get to the lobby from our room if we don't take the outside trek. They could really elevate the experience by now doing that. Once last negative was the fact they have a sauna and cold plunge area. It's nice, but they charged $40 for using it without letting us know ahead of time there is a fee. It may be posted somewhere but it came as a surprise at checkout. Maybe worth it but guests should know. We'd definitely stay here again, because it's hard to imagine a more beautiful arrangement in this part of the world.”
