Booked a spontaneous night at the resort on New Year's Day as they were having a holiday sale. Thought we were getting an awesome deal at $179 but then ran into a friend there who booked through Expedia for $120 so note to self...always check Expedia ;)However, did get a free upgrade to a waterview room and it was close to the pool so we could wander over and swim right from our patio. Did dinner at the pub and have to say, the sushi there was amazing - fresh and reasonably priced. We left very full!Bed could have been a bit more comfortable - it was pretty soft and lumpy so not a great sleep but for a one night getaway, it was more about the pool and hot tub :)Food...read full review
We had New Years Day Brunch in the Arbutus Room. The selection of food was very good but the dishes were not regularly replaced (had to wait for items to come out- and when they did they weren't very warm) and some sitting were cold. There seemed to be a disconnect between the kitchen and the wait staff. We had to ask for coffee, more water, a side plate, butter.$55 could have included a drip coffee, tea or juice.Service was ok.Overall for $123 for 2, before tip, the experience was mediocre.Food & drinks: We had New Years Day Brunch in the Arbutus Room. We had the most amazing visit to Brentwood Bay Resort! 5 star rating!! We were offered a local Prosecco on arrival from Sea Cider Farm. So good! Impressed us right from the start. Our room overlooked the pool & ocean. Quiet, clean, spacious suite. The oversized balcony and outdoor furniture was a very nice touch. The jetted bathtub is big enough for 2 people and was luxurious. The Tyneham bath products they supply smell soooo nice, that I even bought some in the gift shop at checkout. The rain shower is amazing.
