I have to say lifetouch is the best for school photos because you get a variety of backgrounds to choose from, two different pose styles at an affordable price and very good quality to boot. I'm very pleased. Now if they could also do all the high schools in my area i would be really happy!

"Lights, Camera, Payment!" So it appears Lifetouch has some pretty bad reviews going for it already, but here's my story.. I attend Capilano University and they used Lifetouch for grad pictures. So this is a grad pic story.. I signed up a couple weeks ago for a session on campus with them. There were some hiccups here and there such as super late registration opening times (almost 2 hours later than what was mentioned before), really crappy web design as it causes more confusion than anything else, and just generally unsure if things went through. So the problem I had was that I needed to contact them with some very simple questions about photography day. I was wondering if I could bring family along for the shoot since it was graduation photos. After registering online, I emailed them 2 weeks in advance. I later received an email that day saying that my email went to the head office and has been redirected to this particular Lifetouch branch which is the photographers doing the shoot. Over a week pass and I get no response. It was a Thursday. So I call them and they tell me that the office is closed due to Spring Break and I should call head office to answer my questions. The reception at Head Office was pretty quick and helpful but couldn't give me an answer and tells me to call the office on Monday at 8 to confirm. My appointment was at 11:30am that day and I needed an answer to find out if my parents could take the afternoon off or not. It was pretty frustrating at this point. Monday comes around and I call them at 8am, and I get spring break voice mail. 9am comes around, I get the same voice mail. 10am hits and still voicemail. At that point I call head office again and they tell me there is no reason why my calls shouldn't be going through and that it doesn't appear they should be closed. So I tell him that maybe I should just drive down there since I live 10 minutes away from them, he tells me its not a bad idea because some photographers do their own thing and don't like other members of family during shoots like this. So I drive down there, the doors are open, I walk in with a smile and say my good mornings, and tell the reception who is standing behind the desk eating.. I mention that I've been trying to reach the office and that their phone is still on voice mail... and to my surprise... her response was "Yea, so? We know."... word..for...word... I was trying to be polite... but that caught me SO off guard that I turned a smile upside down.. Anyways.. I have yet to receive anything about that picture day. It's been a couple weeks. The 2 stars is for the quick and friendly Head Office staff. They deserve it all.
