As you may know, my favorite activity to do as a bored, single, hormone addled man is to drive around town white-knuckling my steering wheel while aggressively chewing gum and keeping my eyes peeled for hidden gems in this desert town. Lucky me, a sign caught my eye and immediately my curiosity went into overdrive. Mendel’s Wife The Tailor. My neck almost snapped in two when I did a double take. Signage says that this business is located inside Sparkle Cleaners. But it's actually 3 doors north, in a different building in a different parking lot. Easily walkable, but annoying.

In 2006 they were located at Drachman next to Sparkle Cleaners, across from the gas station. I had them fix many tears and rips from my Phoenix Brickyard jacket, it costed about $30 and they did a good job.Then in the 2010s, they moved to a nearby location on Stone Ave., around the corner. In the summer of 2020 I purchased a denim fleece vest from Millers Surplus at a bargain price and decided to make a Metallica rock jacket out of that. I ordered a large back patch and two smaller patches from Rockabilia on line.Mendel's sewed those patches exactly where I wanted them for $30.Then in the Fall of 2020 I purchased an inexpensive gray denim jacket at Walmart for $20 and...read full review
