I had a great experience with DTI operating in Tucson. My evaluation was thoroughly explained to me, and along the way to qualifying for hand controls I found that every recommendation and description of the steps needed came true! For various reasons I had four different ride-a-long instructors and I found each very skilled in teaching an older adult how to learn new things, unlearn old things (and habits,) and improve almost every lesson. Cathy supervised the installation of the hand controls in my family vehicle and a check ride to make sure they, and I, worked properly. I just did my drive off with Lea at United Access in Deer Valley on Wednesday morning and I feel like a bird with wings! After 8 years of not being able to drive and being completely reliant on others for rides to Doctor's appointments and groceries, it has been such a relief and exhilarating feeling of freedom and independence to now know I can take myself, when and where I want! I feel so independent and it has given me a great boost mentally, emotionally and psychologically! There is absolutely no down side to this, I just wish I had done it sooner! Driving to Independence was the best place to learn and from the minute I walked in they were amazing and so accommodating!... read full review
