Dr. Hope Valentine took off in the middle of the night several months ago and won't send my (3) dogs records to the new vet, I am reporting her to the American Veterinary Medical Association due to her negligence! What kind of caring vet would do something like this?

**EDIT - GLAD TO SEE THIS PLACE HAS CLOSED. I HOLD THEM RESPONSIBLE FOR MISDIAGNOSING MY BELOVED SIERRA. I HOPE THEY STAY CLOSED TO AVOID KILLING MORE ANIMALS.** Almost 2 years ago I brought Sierra in to be checked out by your team after I was told she might have a mass near her bladder by a vet in Poncha Springs, CO. The vet in Poncha wasn't sure but thought she saw a small mass on a ultrasound. We were on our way to close on a property near Juniper Mesa Wilderness Area and had to stop off in Sedona to pick up my Macbook from the repair shop so I told the vet in Poncha Springs that I would get her checked out once I got to Sedona since we would be spending a week there. Brought Sierra to your facility for a late afternoon appt and the vet (can't recall his name) looked her over and exclaimed "She's in PERFECT health, your dog will live a long, happy life". I thought to myself - this is great news! 9 months later we were hiking in Leadville Colorado and Sierra stopped walking. Her breathing became extremely labored so I took her in to the Westminster Animal Hospital in Denver, CO after the veterinarian team in Fairplay said the ultrasound on her belly revealed a number of masses. $13K and 5 removed tumors later, I was horrified to be told we didn't act in time. Although the surgeon was able to completely remove the mass in her anal gland and 4 lymph nodes, CT scans revealed the cancer was just beginning to take hold in her lungs as a tiny nodule was present. They told me this spot in her lung was probably only a month or two old. Your "vet" completely missed this, had he been more thorough I wouldn't be looking to put my dog down in the near term. YOU NEED TO LISTEN to people when they put their dog's health in your hands. I'm kicking myself as I should have gone for a second opinion, in hindsight I now see how he was dismissive of my questions about a mass in her body. The latest CT scan we just had completed shows the tiny nodule has spread and she is riddled with lung tumors ranging from 0.4cm to 1 inch in diameter. Although CBD and turkey tail mushrooms have helped her live longer than expected, I can tell she is starting to fail. I have a successful YouTube channel about living out in nature with my dog and you all have cut the story short - thanks for that. Look me up in your system and go over the files if you want...my name is Brian Galyon and my dog's name is Sierra. These sort of mistakes are unforgivable when I clearly told your "vet" about what the other doctor thought she found through an ultrasound. The the "vet" who saw Sierra seemed to be in a hurry to close up shop, I certainly hope we didn't make you late to happy hour. I couldn't be more disappointed in your lack of thoroughness.

Dr. (Using this title loosely) is not a good person. She has single handedly run two vet practices into bankruptcy. I would not trust her with your pet.

This vet killed my dog! She gave him an antibiotic. About a week after the round of antibiotics my dog started stumbling around the house. The next day he had lost all mobility in his back legs. The next day he had lost 100% of his mobility and we had to put him to sleep. I did some research on the antibiotic after I lost my dog. One of the side effects was that it can cause immobility in dogs. The vet *DID NOT* warn me of this possible side effect. All the positive reviews in this thread are not from the new vet/owner, they are mostly attributed to the previous vet. She was also HORRIBLE at customer service. Many times I'd have to wait 90 mins for her to even show up to do my dog's acupuncture (at her office) appointment. I am a Sedona local. I told my neighbors about this. They have been in Sedona 25 years and know a lot of the happenings/people in town. The word is that the vet did not have all her proper AZ licenses (specifically I do not know which ones, if any). May or may not be true, but sharing. Anyway, when a vet prescribes medications, research them. I normally do but did not this time as I assumed it was "just an antibiotic." I will be filing a complaint with the state board.

Fabulous vet! My kitty has a “caution” mark on his chart because he’s very hard to handle normally. He must have felt at ease at this place. He was able to get a full exam. The tech and doc even moved furniture around to make my kitty more comfortable and able to explore. She was even able to do acupuncture on him!! A kitty who normally needs sedation for exams getting acupuncture is amazing to see. Great vet!! 5/5 would recommend! (So would Damien!)

Honestly not the most professional staff. I never left that place feeling better about my dog’s problems. I always felt judged if I decided not to accept their most expensive suggestion or refused their additional drug (that I had to force down my dogs throat six times a day, as if I didn’t have a career to manage). They gave bad or outdated advice semi regularly. Oh and they constantly gave me illegible directions scribbled on a sticky note. Professional doctors type up their instructions for their patients with a letterhead of their practice on top. I also shouldn’t have to ask you to write down instructions for me. I hear they are closed now. Honestly, it’s for the best.

If you’re in AZ this is the Vet to see! From the first call the front desk was transparent with pricing and policy. The Dr was kind and knowledgeable, listened to my concerns and addressed them. My lil guy was back to himself in no time. Thank you!

Misrepresentation of being prior Sedona Animal Clinic. Sale of practice I can understand, however new owner not forthcoming about the practice, e.g holistic vs basic veterinary care UNTIL you are there for appointment. Only cursory med exam, does not specify charge for specific services. Perhaps a problem with their "Square up" payment charges as I was charged nearly $50 in county and city sales taxes which is not applicable without a tangible product purchase. E.g food/meds/ supplies you carry away. They did correct the error but NO response when initially brought up the issue. CHAOTIC office and quite unprofessional. I've no problem with holistic approach but especially want others to be aware possible inaccurate charges.

I will never take my dog back to Sedona Animal Clinic located in Sedona, AZ. They could not run my Care Credit card through properly, even though I've never had an issue with it in all the years I've used it. My dog was a new patient needing a dental cleaning. When I went to pick her up and tried to pay, my card was declined even though I knew I had enough on the card to cover my bill. I called Care Credit while standing there and they told me the card was not declined and should have gone through. After talking to a few people at Cared Credit and having the receptionist talk to them, it was still not going through. At this point, Dr. Hope came out and told me that I had better find a way to pay, that she was not a financial service for people who couldn't pay. She was quite rude and indicated I would not be leaving with my dog if I didn't find someone who would pay for my $1,300.00 dental bill. (I thought that was an excessive amount for a cleaning and one extraction.) I told her I had the means to pay, but her office was not able to deal with Care Credit, even though the first thing I asked about when i set up the appointment was if they take Care Credit and I was told they did. She treated me like I was trying to skip out on my bill. I felt humiliated and just wanted to get my little dog home after a very long day there. I called my son and he paid over the phone. I will NEVER go back to see Hope. She cared more about money than she did my little dog.
