Optical Expressions - Hilton Village

My son and I have been coming to optical expressions for our eye care since 2021 when we moved here. Initially, we were happy with the services provided, but the last year things have taken a turn in their attitude towards service. At my son‘s last appointment, I felt pressured to Use an instrument to check my son’s eyes that wouldn’t cause them to become dilated. I know they Invested a lot for this machine and need to pay for it But as a single mother, it wasn’t necessary for me to invest another $50. For myself, I always choose this option as I schedule my appointments during my workday and benefit from not having my eyes dilated and can return to work easily. However, at 14, it doesn’t make much of a difference for my son. Who’s just going to return home. After I declined the service they wanted to change my son’s contact prescription and try a different size or type with him. I didn’t see why it was necessary since his prescription did not change since our last visit? Then when it came time to pay the bill, they charge me $50 for the contact consultation. So it looked as if either way they were gonna get an extra $50 out of me. most recently, my insurance changed and I canceled my regular eye appointment with them. I scheduled with another provider, had my eye exam and then received a text message, reminding me of my upcoming appointment with them. I went in to pick up my son‘s contacts and let them know. I never scheduled an appointment and I was met with A confrontational attitude by front desk staff. I’m sorry, but I did not schedule an appointment with a Doctor Who was no longer covered by my insurance. She promptly asked me for the insurance I had previously which I confirmed from a company that I was with over a year ago and abruptly stated that I still had coverage with them. It was clear she wanted to get into a pissing match with me , I will not be taking my son to another provider as well. Done.

I have been going to Optical Expressions for years. Dr Wilken is wonderful and very easy to talk to about any eye issues. I have been wearing glasses almost my whole life and Barry in the front is amazing at helping find the right glasses that fit your face. He is very professional and patient even if it takes a year of trying to find new frames!

Dr. Ralston and all the ladies at Optical Expressions are absolutely fabulous! I didn’t have an eye doctor and needed one quickly—they got me in the same day. On top of that, they were kind, professional, and didn’t charge me an arm and a leg. Honestly, it was the smoothest and most pleasant eye doctor experience I’ve ever had. Highly recommend!

This is my absolute favorite place to come in the entire world and I’m not kidding. I’ve been coming here religiously since 2013 and I only go for two things Barry and the amazing selection of frames!!! Barry knows exactly what I like and we always have such a great time. The girls at the front desk are so lovely and so nice. I’m a customer for life.

Optical expression I would recommend to anyone customer service is excellent and the doctors are wonderful, The Dr. takes his time with you and explains everything and wants to know if you have any concerns about your visit.

Are you searching for an optical shop that makes you feel like you found a winner when you walk through the door? Optical Expressions is the choice. The doctors and the staff including the opticians and front desk personnel are all top notch. I don't randomly hand out "five" stars unless the establishment has earned it. I have been affiliated with the Hilton Village location for 25 plus years. I started with Dr. Don then his son Dr. Gary and now Dr. Wilken. The doctors are compassionate, patient and caring while providing first rate eye care. The front desk personnel welcomes you with a warm greeting and makes you feel welcomed. If my prescription did not change significantly, not once have I experienced any pressure to purchase new eye glasses. Whenever new eye glasses are required, there is never any upselling which is rare these days. Optical Expressions is a keeper if you value optometrists with great bedside manners and a staff that ensures you leave pleased with their service. I also want to give a huge shout out to Barry, the office manager at Hilton Village. I could write pages about Barry's numerous occasions that he has taken exceptional care of my family, but need to keep this review brief. Barry is truly a snowflake!

I had a wonderful experience at Optical Expression! Jacklyn Villalovas, the optician, made selecting frames enjoyable and effortless. She was incredibly friendly and attentive, helping me find the perfect pair of glasses, and Sunglasses. She was even able to fix an old pair of sunglasses with a screw that was missing. She did an amazing job assisting my husband as well. The staff here is always accommodating with scheduling, which makes a huge difference. Dr. Francisco Chacon, O.D., is fantastic—he’s thorough, articulate, and takes the time to answer any questions without making you feel rushed. I really appreciate that they don’t overbook appointments, so there’s no long waiting time. Highly recommend this office!

From the get go Samara went the extra mile and I appreciated the way they answered all of my questions with patience and clarity, making me feel truly valued as a patient. It’s clear that they genuinely care about eye health, and their expertise was evident throughout the consultation.

They were knowledgeable and offered great advice on styles that suited my face shape and personal taste. I was very happy with my lenses but also with a newfound confidence in my new eye care office.

This was my first time ever visiting this location. I have had to use glasses pretty much all my life so I kind of know what the in's and out's are. I was very happy with my choice and setting up an appointment here. The Optometrist, Dr. Wilken did a great job and was very helpful with my vision needs.

After that I got to do the fun part, even though its fun it also can be very stressful in choosing the right frame. (Hey you're gonna be using them day in and day out) But this time around it was not stressful at all! I was fortunate enough to have Samara be the optician to help me. She knew exactly what I was looking for but took the time to help me decide on the great selection that they have. She was super patient with me due to my indecisiveness, but she assured me that I was making the right choice when I did find the perfect frame. I am extremely happy with all the help I received and I will for sure be coming back for my annual check up and of course to get a new frame with the help of such wonderful staff!
