We had the First Inspection Team (Tyler, Travis, and Joe) come out in April 2026 to evaluate our attic and help us figure out why our home was so difficult to cool. We’ve lived in this house since 2015 and every summer has been a struggle. We had basically accepted that our A/C was failing or that we’d always be stuck with an 80‑degree house during the day and barely hitting 75 at night.
When First Inspection arrived, we were originally expecting to just add insulation. However when Tyler went into the attic and took over 40 photos (showing deteriorating ventilation tubes, large areas with minimal or even no insulation, exhaust vents that had been left lying on old insulation after a previous roofing job, and tears in our metal ductwork) It was clear that we needed more than just insulation.
Based on what they found, we decided to replace all the old flex ducts, and add 13 inches of TAP blow‑in insulation. They even utilized some of the old insulation to wrap the metal ductwork. The results have been incredible. This is a project I wish we had done 10 years ago. Our A/C used to run 20–22 hours a day; now it’s closer to 14, and the house stays cool and comfortable (75°) even in the middle of the day. The air coming out of the vents is noticeably colder—before, we could barely tell if the system was even running.
