When I adopted Porkchop from the Humane Society, I knew I was getting a big dog. What I didn’t realize was just how much work his reactivity was going to be. Working with Donna has made a huge difference. Walks are easier, Porkchop is learning manners and obedience, and I’ve learned so much about how dogs think and communicate. The biggest thing I’ve gained isn’t just a better behaved dog, it’s confidence as a dog owner. Donna is patient, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in helping dogs and their people succeed. She takes the time to explain what you’re doing and why it works, which has helped me be more consistent and successful with Porkchop. I am so fortunate to have had the opportunity to work with Donna at PVDS. I *had* a very anxious, excitable and reactive dog. What I came home with after a Board & Train is the complete opposite. Walks are no longer a chore but, instead, a calm and enjoyable experience. Until now, I couldn't even bring him into a store.
