I hate to leave a negative review because the staff has always been friendly and professional. However, I've had two disappointing experiences here. Several years ago, I brought in my snake. The visit was expensive, and unfortunately, he passed away the next day. More recently, I brought in my chicken for treatment. Again, the bill was quite high, and she also passed away shortly afterward. In both cases, I was told that everything looked normal and that we could try medication first, then return for additional testing if there was no improvement. What was frustrating was paying over $500 without receiving a clear diagnosis or answers. I understand that veterinary medicine can be complicated and that not every illness can be diagnosed immediately. However, when no cause can be identified, it would be appreciated if there were more transparency about the uncertainty and perhaps some consideration regarding the cost. Being told that nothing obvious is wrong while still facing a large bill is difficult, especially when the outcome is ultimately the loss of a beloved animal. The staff was kind throughout the process, but I left feeling that I paid a significant amount of money without getting meaningful answers or results.

The attention they give to your pets is above and beyond. Wendy Banta-Long has been a great help and has a strong interest in being the one to care for my guy. I couldn't ask for a better person to look over him. The level of care and attention to the specific needs of my little guy.

My husband and I brought our bunny in from a referral/wanting a second opinion for a pretty bad ear infection. He’s on the mend and we have a great plan in place— but what stood out to us and what induced me to write this review was we left (what could have been a very stressful vet visit) relieved. Dr. Gilbert saw our bunny on the same day we called. She spoke to us with kindness and gave us all the options. She answered all of our questions and talked us through every possible route we could take. She impressed upon us her high level of knowledge as it relates to bunnies and cited recent studies and her own experiences with similarly situated bunnies. There was no pressure and she made us feel comfortable with the plan that worked best for our family. In recent experience at other vet offices, we have just been told “this is what we are doing” with no discussion about any other options. That wasn’t the case here. She listened. She validated our concerns. And she got on the floor with our bunny and met him where he was at. She probably spent nearly an hour with us, ensuring all of our questions were answered. We didn’t feel rushed at all. We could tell Dr. Gilbert has a high level of care for her patients and genuinely wants to see the best outcome possible. What started as a second opinion being sought ended with us deciding to make this office our primary care for all of our three bunnies. We spent the entire 20 minute drive home talking about how comfortable we felt having our beloved bun treated here. And a small part— the price was a discussion that we were given privacy to discuss with ourselves before agreeing to it and not a surprise at the front desk at the end. Medications we had been charged 100s of dollars for at other places were more than reasonably priced here. I would recommend anyone with a bunny come here first and look no further. Our bunny left with a great care plan in place, and my husband and I left feeling like we were also cared for.

We have been coming to Arizona Exotic Animal Hospital since my daughter's guinea pig fell ill several years ago. Unfortunately, the prognosis was not very good and my daughter ended up having to put her pet down. This was a completely unexpected development but the staff was considerate and caring towards my daughter throughout the entire decision making process and experience. She now has a Holland Lop bunny and the team members have shepherded him very capably through his first year plus. Highly recommend AZEAH.

The staffs and doctors here are very caring, patient, and friendly! They provide the service nicely with a reasonable price, they treat my rabbit well and welling to take my last minute appointment due to urgency of my rabbit.

Overall amazing care from Dr. Lamb. Been with you all for 10 years now and ive had nothing but wonderful care and compassion from everyone. There isn't enough space to express how amazing this veterinary team truly is. Every member of the staff brings their own unique knowledge and experience, no matter what type of pet comes through their doors. Their dedication, compassion, and teamwork are evident in every interaction. < br /> < br />What stands out most is how they work together to not only provide exceptional care for each animal, but also to ease the minds of worried pet owners. They treat every pet as if it were their own and go above and beyond to ensure both pets and their families feel supported. < br /> < br />I am incredibly grateful for the care, kindness, and professionalism they show every day. Recently I had my guinea pig boarded at the exotic pet vets (formally: Arizona exotic animal hospital) Mesa location. I felt that my guinea pig Cosmo was cared for. The staff were nice, and were always happy to send me photos and updates. I felt confident my pet was getting the best care. Thank you to the front desk staff and technicians that cared for Cosmo Hammond. And I appreciate your option for boarding, thank you.
