I can’t say enough good things about this gym, especially their self-defense program. It was such a rewarding experience—not just physically, but mentally as well. I walked away with skills and knowledge that genuinely make me feel more confident and aware in everyday situations.
Mike and the instructors are incredibly supportive and knowledgeable, and they create an environment where you feel comfortable learning. They’re patient, yet will challenge you in the best way. I’m so grateful for everything I’ve learned from this class. It’s empowering to know how to better protect yourself, and that kind of confidence is truly priceless.
Highly recommend to anyone even thinking about trying it—you won’t regret it.

I can’t say enough great things about this gym and the incredible team behind it. The instructors are extremely knowledgeable, thorough, and professional in everything they do. What really sets them apart is their genuine commitment to each student, they take the time, even outside of scheduled sessions, to ensure everyone understands the material and is set up for success.
They offer a wide variety of classes, including self-defense training that truly promotes safety for you, your family, and the community. The training is practical, realistic, and built around real-life scenarios that can genuinely save lives.
Personally, I’m very grateful for the investment they pour into their students. The environment is clean, safe, and welcoming, and the addition of guest instructors brings even more value and perspective to the experience.

My five year old grandson attended this anti-bullying camp. It was awesome to see how the kids built their Confidence, de-escalate, difficult encounters and worked as a team. I would recommend anyone with school aged children to consider sending them to the anti-bullying camp at Brazilian jiu-jitsu.

I wanted to share my fantastic experiences I continue to have at Sahuarita Joy Jitsu. They are very experienced and friendly catering to all levels of experience. Wonderful with children and adults alike. I have been attending for several years and have found my focus and skills improve, as well as my mindfulness and inner peace having also grown.
