Our dog moose has had two surgeries with this vet office & we trust no one else with his care but them. We love them!!

If you like good communication about your pet, I'd recommend a different vet. I had to call every day this week to be told the vet would be in touch (in a hour, tomorrow, etc) & only she could go over the results. To finally today, the receptionist went over them with me? okay. Not to mention, no solid diagnosis, just $200 for antibiotics (which isn't clearing the issue up) and a visit.

Avoid at All Costs – Dr. Amy Ariano’s Mismanagement Nearly Killed My Dog I am absolutely appalled by the level of incompetence and greed at Agua Fria Animal Hospital under Dr. Amy Ariano’s watch. This place has gone completely downhill since she took over, and my poor dog Speedy almost paid the ultimate price because of it. If you’re considering this clinic for your pet, run the other way—your furry family member’s life could depend on it. We first brought Speedy in for what we thought was a routine dental check after noticing some gum issues. Dr. Ariano immediately pushed for aggressive tooth extractions, insisting there was a severe infection that needed immediate attention. She quoted us an outrageous $2,200 for the procedure, which was nearly double what we paid for similar work just seven months earlier at the same clinic—before her leadership turned it into a money-grab operation. They added unnecessary medications like Cerenia, midazolam, hydromorphone, and gabapentin that weren’t needed last time, jacking up the bill without any explanation for the “changes.” It felt like blatant double-charging for the same services, with no regard for our budget or Speedy’s actual needs. But the real horror? During the exam, Speedy had a clearly elevated heart rate and a heart murmur that should have set off every alarm bell. Instead, Dr. Ariano downplayed it entirely, fixating on the teeth as the “biggest concern.” We trusted her judgment and proceeded, but it turns out she completely missed (or ignored) the signs of impending congestive heart failure. A second opinion from another vet confirmed Speedy had gingivitis, but NO visible infection warranting such drastic extractions. Her obsession with upselling the dental work blinded her to the life-threatening cardiac issue brewing right under her nose. Fast-forward: Speedy’s condition spiraled into full-blown CHF, with his breathing skyrocketing over 100 breaths per minute and dark red gums signaling severe distress. We rushed him to an ER, where X-rays revealed an enlarged heart and fluid in his lungs—issues that could have been caught and managed early if Dr. Ariano had prioritized his overall health over padding the bill. He spent days in oxygen, racking up over $3,000 in emergency care, all because this clinic failed to sound the alarm on his heart rate. Speedy nearly died, and we’re still dealing with the aftermath of her negligence. Dr. Ariano has destroyed what used to be a decent clinic. The staff seems disorganized, the pricing is predatory, and the focus is on profit over pets. We’ve switched to a real vet who actually listens and diagnoses properly. Do yourself and your animal a favor: steer clear of Agua Fria. One star is generous—they deserve zero for putting lives at risk.

I just want to let everyone know that this Vet REALLY CARES about you and your pets. We unfortunately had to go there two days ago and put down our long loved Buddy. He had just got old and wasn't living a happy life anymore 😕. But these people made the whole experience so much easier to have to deal with this heart beating time in our life. And want to let everyone know, this is the place to go. Thank you
