June 19, 2015 We are so happy that we selected Arizona Valley Painting (Ramon Mendez) to paint our house! Our HOA had instructed all owners to paint their property. Having your house painted is a big and potentially stressful decision. It's a decision that you will need to live with for many years to come, so not only do you want to choose colors that will look good and you can be happy with, but you also want to be sure you choose a company that will do the best job possible and do it right the first time. We talked to other homeowners for painter references. We have lived in the same house for over twenty years and it has not been painted since we moved in. We interviewed 5 painters and were quite surprised how many did no follow-up and appeared to not prioritize customer service, quality, and integrity. We identified two acceptable painters for our job and their bids were very competitive. Ramon adjusted his schedule to respond to our request to get an estimate early in the morning. He was professional and very versatile. His company was able to provide me with service end to end. Others did only painting, did not cover all stucco repairs, could not work on our balcony to repair a wet spot but tried convincing us that we needed an entirely new balcony, and they could not accommodate repair and refinishing doors. Ramon thought outside the box, was versatile enough to handle the entire project, and to identify any potential issues. It was important to us that our job be completed on consecutive days and within a specified timeframe. Ramon was able to accommodate our requirements. He was at work every day except for a day I approved off so he could attend his daughter's graduation. My house needed extensive preparation because of peeling paint on the siding and fence. Ramon pressure washed everything, scraped and repaired the trim and fascia boards that were rough and dry from direct sunlight, and then he covered the areas for painting. The paint job was thorough, the door was replaced, the front door was refinished, and gutters were installed to resolve the wet spot issue on the balcony while alleviating what could have been a continuing issue. When he finished, the house looked almost new. Ramon was friendly, confident, enthusiastic, and his knowledge was impeccable. He was an excellent listener, accountable, responsible, polite and courteous, and was patient in explaining everything that needed to do be done. He spoke fluent English. He felt like part of our family, sharing pictures of his daughter's graduation, as requested. One day he was locked out on the balcony for a period of time due to the door locking behind him. He was not upset and regardless of the stress that would be caused for many, he appeared to be unaffected and was laughing about it afterwards. Ramon left "no stone unturned," completely cleaning up everything when he finished and reviewing everything he had done with me. My experience with Ramon Mendez (AZ Painting Co.) completely restored my confidence in great employees who cared about their customers and provided quality work and excellent customer service, what an absolute delight to work with him.
