Called because I wanted recurring lawn service. They said let’s do a one time service-the yard is so small, not much to do. I said okay but I want recurring service. They came out, did nothing special and didn’t give me an upfront all in rate. Did a basic service but managed to charge me I want to say $600 (the fee was complicated and I wasn’t clear they were going to charge me like $70 for coming out and then per person per hour( they said an hourly rate and it would take a few hours but I wasn’t clear I needed to double that rate bc they were sending multiple people and charging per person) so when I got the bill for a basic clean up I was pretty shocked). Then they said i should jsut call back each time I want them to come (um no i want recurring service at a flat rate not to have someone trick me into paying $600 to have my lawn mowed, edged, hedges trimmed once. Never wanted a one time service in the first place). It’s been like a year since this happened but I see there truck and get annoyed at that $600 so figured I’d try and save someone else from the same experience.

I have used these guys for several years. When they discovered grubs, my front lawn was virtually eaten up.They sprayed in Fall and Spring charged me 196.00 twice. New sod required on large portion of once beautiful front yard.

For the last two years I've used them and I've had nothing but weeds. Service is bad, don't use them. I've cancelled my service

I have used HL&S for several years to clean up the fall leaves in my jungle of a back yard. This is a 6 hour job for two people. I have always found the workers to be pleasant and hard working. They come when expected, do the job, leave everything in good shape. I have never had any complaints. The young men who work are really nice and interested in doing what I want them to do to my satisfaction.
