The Fort Smith Art Center is a hidden gem offering a variety of activities and events for all ages. The center features a free weekly online Zoom sketch class, family-friendly events on Saturdays, and Drop-in and Draw sessions with live models on Thursdays. The on-site gift shop is also a highlight. The art museum showcases local art exhibitions, which change every 60 days, and supports disabled artists and veterans. On Saturdays, the center offers free arts and crafts for children in the basement, making it an affordable and enjoyable family outing.
This is one of Fort Smith's gems. It is a wonderful and inexpensive place to visit. They always have things going on. There's a free weekly Zoom sketch class online Tuesday nights. There are always fun and family-friendly events on Saturdays, Drop-in and Draw with live models on Thursday afternoons, a really excellent gift shop... I could go on and on. My advice to you is to stop by and take a look. I promise you'll be glad you did!
Great art museum to visit with knowledgeable and friendly staff. Loved seeing all the art on display. At this time there was even an exhibition on the main floor with local art you could vote on for people's choice. It was nice being part of that. Loved that they support disabled artists as well as veterans. That was very refreshing. Can't wait to go back and see the new exhibits later on as they are change out every 60 days or so.
We love the Ram!! We take our children - we have 6 - EVERY saturday!! They have free arts and crafts in the basement from 12-3 and the kids love it!! The instructors are great as well!! It's so hard to find family activities that are affordable and it's hard to beat free!!
