About Vestavia Pediatrics
Vestavia Pediatrics is a medical practice that provides comprehensive care for newborns through college-age patients. With five experienced pediatricians on staff, the practice is equipped to address a wide range of medical needs. Patients and their families have expressed satisfaction with the care provided by Drs. Stone, Hamm, and Simpson, who are praised for their attentiveness, patience, and empowering approach. However, some concerns have been raised about long wait times, both for scheduled appointments and sick visits, which can be challenging for parents. The office staff has also been described as occasionally unhelpful or even rude, which has led some families to consider switching to a different practice. Overall, Vestavia Pediatrics is a well-regarded pediatric practice, but improvements in managing patient flow and staff interactions could enhance the patient experience.
We’ve used Vestavia Peds for 9 years with two kids, and drive more than an hour to see them. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Hamm (now retired) and Dr. Stone. There are several reviews about long wait times and lack of communication, but I have only experienced a long wait time once or twice (during busy season which is understandable) and I have never experienced poor communication. Shane, RN to Dr. Stone, is amazing! Any time I ask questions in the portal his response is fast and caring. I’ve never had issues with billing or the front desk. We love and appreciate Vestavia Peds!
Dr. Stone is the most incredible doctor I’ve ever met. He’s been our pediatrician since my kids were born, for nearly nine years, and he has always been amazing. Today, my 8.5 year old son needed a procedure that was painful and scary to him. Watching Dr. Stone guide him though the process was a master class in coaching. He told my son exactly what would happen and how this was an opportunity to rise to the occasion to do something hard, be brave, and walk out of there proud of how he handled it. It made all the difference. Thank you, Dr. Stone!
Nice doctors here but I’m noticing a pattern here… every visit I’m waiting a hour just for my kids to be seen doesn’t matter what type of visit. It doesn’t matter if it’s a morning , afternoon regular checkup or sick visit they take their time and aren’t considerate of patient or parents time. They come in for less than 5 minutes but I’m waiting a hour more just to be seen and I come to each appointment on time even early and it’s ALWAYS like this. Considering at this point switching to another clinic.
