Even though the website states walk in available, this location refused a was and cut for my son. I was told they were fully booked and could not do both services. We initially waited about 5 minutes, then we were told they didn’t have time even though the lobby was completely empty. When I brought this up to the lady behind the registered she stated she was going to lock the door behind me because I was yelling. I don’t feel like I was screaming or yelling at anyone. Once we left we waited around about 30 minutes and only one family entered the shop. Joe is this considered fully booked? I’m extremely disappointed since for one, we are from out of town and two, I really feel like your staff cuts my son’s hair really well. This is not the type of service I would expect. *** After this post the management replied that I have never been serviced from their location, when in fact I have many times. Sonya and Michelle were your hair stylist that are lazy and discriminated against me.

The experience here is always great. My daughter loves to choose which seat she gets to sit in (fire truck, police car, train) and they have kid friendly movies on the TV to keep them distracted if they are nervous about the haircut. They also get to pick from a small prize box and get a sucker too.

We drove 2 hours so that our kiddo could have her first haircut at a place that specialized in kids and that she'd have the best chance at having a good experience. Aren was so patient and kind. She let my girl sit in my lap and was very flexible. Everyone had a great experience and my girl asked if she could get her hair cut again!! 10/10

Wow, they saved our day today! Our original hairdresser from a separate salon never showed up for our appointment. I called Pigtails and Crew Cuts and they fit us right into the schedule. Ms. Aren introduced herself to our toddler and explained every bit of the process with him. She was patient and fun and made sure our son had a good time too. I cannot stress enough how easy she made the process. Afterwards, we went to the party room and decompressed with the train. I’ve never seen my son have such an easy time with a haircut in my life. Wherever Ms. Aren goes, we will go! She has won us over for life.

My daughter got the WORST haircut today. The stylist never parted her hair down the middle as even I know that’s proper technique. One side is longer than the other. I will not go back to an established that doesn’t know how to cut hair.

Brittany was so patient and kind! She met my boy where he was and we made it work for him! Breaks, high-fives, sips of water, whatever he needed she took her time and allowed time for him to calm down and regulate! Haircuts have always been challenging but Brittany made us feel seen and understood! We will certainly be back!!!

We LOVE pigtails and crew cuts! Specifically Aren!!!! We have been going to her since my daughter’s first haircut. She has always been so patient , understanding, and kind with my girl. She takes her time to answer questions. She is very interactive with the children! She is always willing to work with my daughter to make sure she remains comfortable!
Every appointment we go to Aren goes out of her way to make sure my daughter has an enjoyable and pleasant experience no matter what. We will always only ever use her.
It is a 35 minute drive for us now and I know there are places way closer to us that we could use but to us Aren is worth the drive. We have had a frost hair cut package, a kids cut, and fairy hair from pigtails and crew cuts and not once had a bad experience. From the moment we walk in the door it’s a pleasant, welcoming, and clean environment. Even if they are busy there is a room kids can play and color while you wait. I can not recommend Aren enough!

On February 16, 2026, between 2:30–3:30 pm, we brought our 3-year-old son in for a haircut. Josey was scheduled to cut his hair.
Without introducing herself, she simply pointed to the chair for my son to sit down. I actually had to ask whether she was Josey. The moment my son sat down, she immediately started using an electric clipper without any preparation or attempt to engage him. Naturally, he became frightened and did not want to continue.
This was not our son’s first haircut. He has previously had his hair cut with the same type of device at other places without any difficulty. However, this time he became very scared and refused to proceed.
While we were trying to calm and encourage him, Josey stood next to us without making any effort to interact with him. She maintained a tense expression and did not attempt to establish any warm or reassuring communication. This only made the situation worse and increased his anxiety.
I am a neurologist and my spouse is a pediatrician. We understand very well how important communication is when working with young children. Unfortunately, instead of helping to ease the situation, Josey escalated the tension. She made no effort to build rapport with our son.
At the end of the haircut, I pointed out that some areas were cut asymmetrically and asked whether she could correct them. Her response was simply, “Okay, I’ll try again,” which felt dismissive and unprofessional.
During the haircut, in an effort to comfort our son, we allowed him to play with a small toy truck from a nearby shelf. After the haircut, as we were leaving, we were told that we had to purchase the truck. We explained that we had returned it to its place, but we were told in a very forceful and rude tone that we were required to pay for it. We ended up paying $14 for a small toy truck.
This has become a place we will absolutely never return to, and we will strongly advise our friends and family not to visit. I sincerely hope Josey considers a position that does not require working with young children, as her communication style is not appropriate for that setting.
On our way home, we received a notification that the appointment had been marked as canceled. This raised concerns that it may have been done to prevent us from leaving a review. For transparency, I am also attaching a photo of the payment receipt.
Unfortunately, everything described above is accurate.

Great place to get your child’s haircuts. I took my 2 sons and the service was amazing. We had the opportunity to work with Alandra and she was great with both of my kids. Did the hair cuts quick and they look great. We will definitely be going back!
