I recently had a PRV (Pressure Reducing Valve) installed by Premier Service Company. While the company was responsive and engaged in several discussions with me about the issues that arose, I am extremely disappointed with the outcome.
Following the installation, about 24 hours later, a cracked female adapter at the check valve led to a broken main and flooding in my yard. Although Premier Service explained that they used a union to avoid manipulating the pipe and that a crack would have caused an immediate leak, the damage occurred shortly after their work. Despite these discussions, they continue to deny any responsibility for the issue. I have never had a leak at the main in the 10 years I've lived at this house, and after their work, I had a flood.
I also consulted another plumber who indicated that the installation could have placed undue stress on the existing piping, potentially leading to the damage. Unfortunately, Premier Service has refused to reimburse the $901.27 I spent on repairs, and they have not acknowledged any fault in the matter.
While they were communicative throughout the process, I am dissatisfied with the lack of resolution and would caution others to consider this experience before choosing to work with them.
I would advise others to be cautious about agreeing to any additional work recommended by this company without getting a second opinion. In particular, I would recommend avoiding having a PRV installed by them.
