If I could give negative stars, I would. My mother passed away in April of ’25. I retained representation on 5/16/25 to open an estate in her name. As of today 4/30/26, the case has yet to be resolved. I have yet to speak to the actual attorney and all communication through his paralegal has been via email, very compassionate. There have been multiple delays and submissions of incorrect documents to the probate court that have yet to be resolved as well as mailing documentation to the wrong address resulting in even more delays. As it stands now, I will be hiring a second attorney to finish the case with the probate since the attorney I’ve already paid in full cannot or will not finish their job. Really pathetic service and I would not recommend their representation unless you enjoy grief and incompetence.

We came in several years ago for our planning appointment with Brenton. Had a great meeting and enjoyed our estate planning process. Simple and to the point. Our initial introduction to the office was an estate planning workshop conducted by Brenton McWilliams held in Fairhope during late October. We were so impressed by the information shared that we booked our first appt for mid November.. I lost my father almost a year ago and he had a will, and therefore my family and I were working thru probate, getting accounts and real estate into my mothers name etc. I didn’t want to leave my children with the same burden. The grieving process is hard enough without probate on top of it!
In November, We met with one of the law firms estate advisors, Jackie Bourgeix, who walked us thru the process, gathered all of our information,.and began the process of developing a much needed plan. She was awesome!
Our next step was to discuss our wishes and estate plan with one of the attorneys, Brent Helms. Brent spent hours with us to ensure we understood every aspect of our situation, our desires and needs. Based on our experience, I’d recommend Brent to anyone seeking assistance with estate planning!
In two months time,, we have now finalized our trust and pour over will! I can’t begin to state what comfort and peace this brings, knowing that we have clearly outlined our wishes and set our children up with an easy process once we are gone. We are fairly young and healthy…but this is important!
Is it worth the money? Absolutely! Are we wealthy people? No, but we’ve saved over the years, have assets that need to be protected and needed honest guidance.
Bottom line, we go to sleep tonite with peace of mind and highly recommend The Law Offices of Brenton C. McWilliams and especially, Brent Helms (our Estate Attorney)!
