About Center for Colon & Digestive Disease

The Center for Colon & Digestive Disease is recognized for its compassionate and knowledgeable medical team, particularly Dr. Nunley, Dr. Voelkel, and CRNP Alyssa. Patients appreciate their genuine interest in addressing individual health needs and providing excellent care. Many reviews highlight Dr. Voelkel's straightforward approach and the helpfulness of the staff, making patients feel comfortable even during sensitive discussions. However, some patients have experienced significant wait times, often exceeding an hour past scheduled appointments. This lengthy wait can detract from the overall experience, leading to mixed feelings about the practice. The scheduling department has been noted as a point of frustration, with several patients reporting difficulties in rescheduling appointments and poor communication. Despite these challenges, the center is praised for its effective handling of urgent medical issues and the quality of care provided. The staff is described as friendly, efficient, and dedicated to patient well-being, contributing to an overall positive impression for many patients. While some may be deterred by the scheduling issues and wait times, others feel the quality of care is worth the inconvenience. Overall, the Center for Colon & Digestive Disease is a place where patients can expect caring and knowledgeable professionals, though improvements in scheduling and wait times are needed.

I had come in about, gosh, maybe two years ago. Everything led up to a colonoscopy. I had Dr. Yousef, but his solution to my problem of severe diarrhea was to take more fiber.

With my new Doctor in Missoula, who doesn’t even specialize, I now take minimum 2mg of generic Imodium 45 minutes before each meal, everyday. I still sometimes have very bad diarrhea even after 6mg a day. Dr. Yousef thought I was a crazy person. But my Missoula doc (actually a nurse practitioner) listened to me, and knew more about digestive health than he does.

I wouldn’t recommend these doctors for anything other than being able to point at a screen and say, “Look! I see it!”

After coming from a very bad GI doc experience, I'll just say that Dr. Nunley is pretty amazing. Kind, caring, intelligent, and genuinely interested in addressing patient needs. I can't recommend him highly enough!

This said, my last couple appointments they've been over an hour after the scheduled time (for mid morning time slots), so the excellence above comes at the cost of a pretty bad overage of wait time that you have to consider. Worth it to me, but not to all, so heads up!

Saw Dr. Voekel and it was a good visit. He is straightforward and pragmatic. I did not feel like he was pushing prescriptions, but trying to determine best next steps. The staff was nice and helpful.
