I wish I could give more stars! My German Shepherd pup has been a regular patient here for several months. Every time he comes here, he is so happy and loves all of the staff. All of the staff are so loving and kind to all of the animals, not just mine. Last night I had to take my baby to the ER for gastrointestinal issues and it was a long night to say the least. Today, 15 minutes before this office opens, I was texted by the office number asking if my pup was ok because they saw in his records that he had been to the ER last night. Wow… I have never had a vet office check in after an emergency for my pet. I took my pup in for a follow up appointment this morning, and they had to stick a tool in his rectum to see if he had an intestinal blockage. Normally my dog is very high energy and may try to nip when he is uncomfortable, but he laid in the arms of the staff and whimpered and cuddled against them while they held him down. This shows me that my pup has a lot of trust and love for the staff here, because he is very expressive and he communicates his emotions very loudly through his behaviors. I have had dogs over the years and I have had many different vets across this country, and none of them were as kind, compassionate, as good at diagnosing, and as good at their job as Dr. Gill is. I have told my husband that we are so lucky to have such excellent vet care nearby, and I wouldn’t dream of taking our baby anywhere else. I never want to move for fear that I wouldn’t find as good care anywhere else for my pup! Take your fur baby here, you won’t regret it.

Wouldn’t think of taking my fur babies anywhere else. Because of Heather and her wonderful staff I was given almost three more precious years with my cat, Patches. What a compassionate, caring group of people.

Dr. Gill was a blessing to our family. She correctly diagnosed and treated our 16 year old toy poodle, Dyce for kidney disease and her office helped us through the cremation process once our little guy passed. I will forever be thankful to her and the staff at Loxley Animal Hospital.

I don't really know where to start, or how to even finish, honestly - but, Dr. Gill and her staff deserve all the commendation in the world.

Today has been one of the hardest days I have ever had. Our 9 year old cat (who had epilepsy) had a VERY sudden change - he went from being normal to being wobbly and barely able to walk. He could no longer control his bladder, and was in immense pain. We took him to an emergency vet last night in Mobile around 1AM, who expressed major concerns, and referred us to Dr. Gill. Upon examination, Dr. Gill went into great detail as to expectations, prognosis, and costs. Our baby had a poor prognosis and, if he wound up having another grand mal seizure, he was likely too frail to survive it. We had to do the incredibly difficult thing of letting him go.

Dr. Gill, and her assistant, Carrie, were beyond amazing. Shadow (our beloved baby boy) was well cared for, treated gently and humanely. The staff showed us great care and kindness as we were both breaking down into tears. He was such a good boy. I'm devastated that he had to leave this world, but I'm thankful we could spend our final moments with him getting the best care possible, and given the most comfort possible.

Rest in peace, Shadow. And, thank you, Dr. Gill and Carrie.
