Have always felt cared for and took care of every time I've been in this hospital (3 surgeries). Except for one time coming into the ER. That Dr was awful to me. But I would recommend this hospital to anyone.
First, I am a nurse. We've recently moved from Houston TX so small town hospital is kind of scary to begin with for me. I'm a complex medical patient. I've gone to the er 2 x's and it was OK for both. 1 for severe Abdominal pain n the other severe muscle spasms. This er visit resulted in a 7 days stay for chronic Bronchitis. The 1st 2 days -care was consistent and good. After that? 12 hr nursing shift resulted in 2-3 nurses. Meds were way off schedule. Getting ice took several hours. The room walls are filthy and cabinet and walls crumbling. Aides n nurses didn't even attempt to hit the trash can! Gloves or sanitizer were NOT used consistently. I did not plan to deliver in Jasper, and I did not have prenatal care with WWS. However, when labor progressed too quickly for me to reach my planned provider, everyone from the ER to Labor and Delivery was professional and welcoming. Our baby was delivered safely just 50 mins after walking in the door, and I completely credit our great experience to Dr. Brunner and the L&D nurses. She answered all of my (somewhat frantic!) questions and was able to provide explanations for the things she was asking me to do. She and the nurses (Jodi, especially!) coached me through every step.
