UAB Medicine Hoover Primary & Specialty Care is a medical complex offering primary and specialty care services, including a family medicine clinic and a UAB Callahan Eye Hospital Clinic with a full-service optical store. The facility has adequate parking and clean restrooms. Employees are described as friendly, clean, and professional. Patient exam rooms are exceptionally clean. Providers and their teams are knowledgeable, helpful, kind, and empathetic. The front desk staff is also noted for their politeness and friendliness. One patient mentioned the care they received from a specific ultrasound technician who was polite and thorough, making the patient feel comfortable and hopeful. Recent feedback highlights incredibly fast service. Patients have experienced short waits and found the staff extremely nice, with some highly recommending the facility. The nursing staff has been described as pleasant, spending time talking with patients and adding a human touch. Medical doctors listen attentively and appear interested, treating complaints quickly and efficiently. Specific mention is made of superb care from RNs Judy and Darrell, and Dr. Kaplan. While the care provided by these individuals is highly praised, some feedback suggests potential improvements for the triage system and reception. A point of improvement mentioned is the need for patients with disabilities to have access to close parking spaces, as it can be challenging for them to get to and enter facilities for doctor appointments.
Incredibly fast service. I registered, went to the 2nd floor, and before I could sit, I was called back. The nursing assistant who took my vitals signs was pleasant, and spent time actually talking with me about a book I was carrying. Exceptionally unusual, but appreciated as it added a human touch. The MD came in quickly, listened, and appeared interested. Also atypical, but appreciated. My complaint was treated quickly and efficiently, and I was finished in less than 30 minutes. Fantastic.
Compliments to RNs Judy and Darrell. Superb care. Also Dr. Kaplan. Not sure the triage system really works. After a fall and in tremendous pain I watched other patients who arrived after me being treated. Happy there were wheelchairs available and my friend was able to help me. The 5 stars are for Judy, Darrell, and Dr. Kaplan, not for triage or for reception. 3 stars there.
Tuesday 11-11-2023 1:PMThis place has adequate parking, clean restrooms, friendly employees, employees appeared clean & professional, clean patient exam rooms (the cleanest I've ever seen, (& I'm old), & my provider and her team were extremely knowledgeable, helpful, kind & empathetic. Highly recommend.*****Removed one star because a VENDOR parked in a ♿ space beside us without a handicapped permit or tag & I had to wait on him to load his car so I could get in mine. This is so disrespectful to those of us who NEED the close parking spaces because getting to & in facilities for doctor appointments is a challenge.
