They are not caring for my mom like they. Talking to them on the phone is awful. They send too many different nurses and therapists it's confusing.

I want to applaud and praise one of your employees. His name is Josh Pruitt. He has been a joy to work with. I had a stroke on my right side and he did therapy with me then and now I had a knee replacement and he is my therapist and it’s a joy to work with him. He works me and challenges me every time and the results are being felt. He is kind, pulls no punches but tells you the truth and encourages you too do better. Thank you for allowing him to be my therapist. He is absolutely a joy to be around.

The people who provide the care are sincere and helpful to the patient although the visits are short like 15 min. It seems to me though that their objective is to discharge the patient. I don't know how they are paid but they remind me how Medicare only pays for so many weeks and there are many things they cannot do like refill weekly container or give the patient medicine. They say their job is to train a caregiver. Then they discharge the patient. If you need a nurse, you may then learn from the office that the patient has been discharged. Then you have to get the doctor to sign the patient back up for nursing care. Then they come back out to ask questions and readmit the patient. It is very annoying for a relative to deal with the excuses you hear. If you have power of attorney, it doesn't matter. They aren't going to ever call you. You will have to hire caregivers. Caregivers are not nurses or physical therapists. And today I was told that having caregivers is another reason we don't need a nurse to come out because the caregivers can be trained to take her bp manually. I think Amedisys is just trying to cut back on their expenses and sell their business to someone else. You can read about their stock. This has happened a lot. Kindred was sold last year.

They were here in a time of need. I still have tears for the level of care they provided for my mother. God bless them.

I recently received physical therapy from Amedisys after a hip replacement. My care could not have been better. Kayla and Joanie took good care of me. If anyone can make physical therapy a pleasant experience that says alot.

Amedisys was in my folk’s home quite a bit since October of ‘21. My dad had bypass and home health got him going again. He’d been released for a few weeks when my mother was diagnosed with pancreatic cancer during an endoscopy that went sideways. After Mother was released from the hospital Amedisys came in again. She had a physical therapist, aides that helped with her personal hygiene and nurses who guided us through palliative care. All of them were kind, patient, helpful and gentle, not with just Mother but with my dad and me too. The day after Mother passed, Dad fell and hit his head. Once again, we called on Amedisys when we learned that Dad would never regain consciousness. They helped us get Dad home from UAB and got his pain controlled. Dad died at home in our arms three days after Mother did, in their home. I can’t thank the Amedisys team enough for their care and kindness. After Dad passed, the nurse came in and bathed him and dressed him with dignity before his body was transported. It’s been a month and they continue to reach out to me.If you need this kind of help, I can’t imagine any other outfit being any better.
