Bessemer Pet Clinic is a small, privately owned animal clinic that has been serving the community in downtown Bessemer for over 40 years. They used to offer a 7 AM drop-off service and Saturday hours, but these have been temporarily suspended. During the week, they break for lunch between 11:30 AM and 1:30 PM and check in their last patient at 4:30 PM. The clinic is known for its caring staff and down-to-earth atmosphere, with prices considered reasonable compared to other vets. The team truly cares for animals from their hearts, and the clinic has been a trusted place for many pet owners for over two years.
Recent visitors have shared positive experiences, especially with pet boarding. One customer boarded their 1-year-old Lab for 5 days, and the staff was exceptionally kind and attentive. The experience exceeded expectations, providing peace of mind for traveling. Many appreciate the warm, caring environment and the affordable prices. The clinic's veterinarian, Dr. Khan, is highly praised for phenomenal service and dedication.
However, there have been some issues with communication. A customer was disappointed when they called to make an appointment and arrived to find the doctor was only taking appointments, feeling that the receptionist was rude and unhelpful. Despite attempts to clarify, the situation was not handled well, leading to the customer deciding not to return. Conversely, other customers had positive interactions with staff, finding the receptionist pleasant and helpful, and appreciated the care their pets received, including treatment for ear infections and a charming collar with updated information.
Overall, Bessemer Pet Clinic offers attentive care and a dedicated veterinarian. While most experiences are positive, the clinic recognizes the importance of consistent communication and professional customer service to ensure every pet owner feels confident and valued.
This vet is top notch. You will have to wait a bit sometimes but the workers there care, the veterinarian is thorough and it’s really just a place you know you can trust for your pets. Everyone has always gone out of their way to help the many times I’ve come here.
Dr. Kahn is a fantastic vet. I've had many pets in his care over the years. I love his mannerism with my bulldogs. Front desk is lacking.
Update on front desk staff. Since Dr. Kahn's daughter took over there has been a major change for the better. She's extremely knowledgeable, helpful and friendly.
I love her as much as I do him
Dr. Kahn is now taking care of my great grand dog a 13 yr old Shih Tzu Zoe, and he just saved my granddaughter Chihuahua life. I believe this vet can work miracles.
He's also taken care of many strays Winston has picked up off the street.
Dr Khan has been around for some time now. He is very caring and goes the extra mile to make sure you are as happy as you can be before departing. He's also the most affordable out of 6 other pet clinics I've been to. Highly recommended!!
