Bessemer McCalla Animal Clinic is known for its knowledgeable and caring staff, particularly Dr. Gaines, who has years of experience. Many appreciate his dedication to animals and follow-up care. However, some find his attitude rude and offensive, especially when discussing prices. Despite mixed feelings about his demeanor, many clients still recommend the clinic for its commitment to animal welfare.
Staff is always helpful.
They're wonderful to my animals. However, HIS attitude is rude and can be offensive to many. I know he is old and doesn't like people calling yet he answers the office phone with an attitude. He has been extremely rude to me 2X.
If you question about a price or two he will make you feel petty and gaslights you. He's definitely old and mean.
I can't recommend Dr. Gaines enough to people. My oldest cat has seen him multiple times, and recently, I was scared he'd want to put him down. Nah, he wanted to do everything he could to avoid euthanasia. He also handled a secondary concern free of charges!
They were absolutely fantastic! I called this morning around 9ish to make an appointment to get my fur babies' first shots and all done. We were outta there by 11:00. They had both my fur babies in and out within an hour. Thank y'all so much again! They are open on Saturday till 12 :)
