On August 11th, our sweet puppy had fallen ill and we didn’t know just how bad his condition was. He fell ill very quickly overnight and we were advised by our local veterinarian to bring him to the AU Vet Clinic for emergency care. The entire staff - ER, Internal Medicine, and Veterinary Students - were all so amazing and had great communication regarding our dogs condition. Unfortunately, he did not survive his short battle with IMHA but my family is eternally grateful for the care and love our fur baby received at this clinic. I believe it was Dr. Barnes that helped us. We came in from Columbus because we heard how amazing this hospital is. Our boy was not feeling well at all and we were super worried. He is very anxious especially at the vet, but everyone we came in contact with was super kind, patient, and loving towards him. Dr. Barnes and her intern (can’t remember her name) were very thorough and answered all our questions. I did leave with a couple questions but they were answered in his discharge paperwork. This place is the freaking BEST! They take incredible care at every level (Admin, Techs, Vets, Student Vets).
My pup ruptured a disc and was diagnosed parplegic (no use of the back legs). The neurology team was incredible to work with. They used imaging to get to the root cause of the injury and then collaborated with the physical therapy team to get our dog back to walking, standing and relieving herself independently in just 2 weeks.
There are no words that can do justice to how thankful my wife and I are to this place. If you've got an animal with a complex problem you can't do better then Auburn.
