High Cotton Arts

My sorority sister and I roamed in here on the way to Athens Alehouse last Friday. It's a working artist's studio with ~10-ish areas for each artist and their works. They offer classes, too. Everyone was really friendly and interesting to speak with. They have a nice variety of items ranging from notecards featuring locally photographed birds, to dinner-plate-sized (and smaller) stained glass items, to portraits of political figures, and Christmas ornaments. Personally, I enjoyed the stained glass the most! Art is so personal and I prefer modern art, oversized pieces, and mixed media in particular. Despite not seeing anything I just *had* to have, High Cotton is a friendly place and worthy of a visit.

Wonderful little collection of local artists in downtown Athens. The manager was extremely friendly, the pieces were reasonably priced, and the artwork was beautiful. I will definitely be back!

High Cotton is a wonderful place to visit! There are some very talented artists who hang out here. My husband will be taking painting lessons at high cotton and I'm looking forward to taking stained glass classes. Go in because you're curious, stay because it's fun!♡
