I lived in a loft owned by Braxton Harris Properties on Nobel Street for 3 years. (1214 Nobel Apt #A) The first day I moved it I changed the sheets on the furnished bed to discover a very large urine stain on the memory foam topper. I cleaned this and did not mention it to the property manager at the time as I thought maybe this was an oversight and would not be indicative of my stay there. The entire time I lived there the roof leaked in multiple locations and she never fixed it completely. I was tired of asking her to fix it and take time off work to meet the roofers so I ended up just putting buckets on the floor and dealing with it until I moved out. She let the water bill go past due (It was included in my rent and to my knowledge she paid it) and my water was cut off for an entire weekend. Kelly Bell had my mailbox rekeyed and then did not acknowledge the mistake until I spoke with Lupe (the maintenance man) about it. The air conditioner in the apartment is undersized and was unable to keep the space cool in the summer months or warm in the winter months. I called about this a few times and each time I was told this was fine. The toilet in one of the bathrooms took over a year before she sent someone to fix it. The hot water in the kitchen worked sporadically. Only one of the three windows were operable in the apartment. With one of them having a gap at the bottom that I was never able to close. The leaks caused extremely dirty water to get into the apartment and make a huge mess at all those locations that was difficult to combat. The bulbs in the fans were never replaced like Kelly told me she would do when I moved in and they were so high that I could not replace them myself due to the very high ceilings. I left the loft in good condition and cleaned it thoroughly spending several days cleaning everything from the oven to the bathrooms and the walls. It was a furnished apartment, so I left a couple of storage items that I felt were necessary because the property being a loft, lacked some storage space. The loveseat that was furnished to me was made of bonded leather and began peeling soon after I moved in. This is a known problem with this kind of leather. I did not do anything to cause this. I coved the loveseat with a fitted sheet so I could use it, but the material continued to deteriorate below the cover. Upon moving out the property manager charged me almost $1500 in damages to the apartment and kept my entire deposit. I do not believe this was fair and think that I am owed the entire deposit of $850 back as I left the property in good condition with only normal wear and tear.
