About Alaska Raptor Center
The Alaska Raptor Center is a small but highly recommended attraction in Sitka, particularly for those interested in wildlife and conservation. This center is dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating injured raptors, including eagles, falcons, owls, and other large birds. Visitors can explore the facility and learn about the birds, as well as the efforts to rescue and rehabilitate them. The center is home to many majestic birds with wing spans stretching over 6 feet, offering a rare and fascinating experience. The staff is knowledgeable about each bird and its unique story, providing an educational and enjoyable experience for all. The Alaska Raptor Center is not only a great place to learn about and admire birds of prey, but it's also an important place to pay attention to and support conservation. Visitors can also see a bald eagle nest replica, which is mind-blowing in its size. The trails to the river where visitors can see the salmon are well-maintained and easy to travel. The center has permanent resident bald eagles due to injuries that leave them permanently unable to fly or otherwise unable to fully care for themselves, as well as a half dozen or so bald eagles being rehabilitated to prepare them for release.

I found out about the Alaska Raptor center through Richard. We booked a tour during our cruise and absolutely loved it. The entire team is welcoming and engaging. Plus, Tito, their Sahwet(sp?) owl is the definition of the most precious. Very worthy center doing amazing work! Thank you all for all that you do.
