BAIT & SWITCH WARNING: August 23rd @ 4pm - Appointment at Better Health Chiropractor in Juneau started. I checked in with Joseph at the front desk at 3:50pm. I was met by Cassandra, the Nurse Practitioner, in the lobby. I was escorted back to room #1 where I met the "Chiropractor" (no name given). I went through a series of questions, both asked by Cassandra and "Chiropractor" on my medical history, aches, and pains. The "Chiropractor" asked me to sit on the table where he proceeded to do a physical exam of my neck & shoulder. He pointed out some areas of interest and tightness. This place's strength is in their billing, working with insurance companies, and variety of treatments. In network with Aetna and Premera. First visit contains an exam and treatment. Electric stimulation I find is most helpful for pain relief and physical therapy exercises are best for long term recovery. But depending on the situation (including your insurance coverage) they'll work with you to develop a treatment plan. Then after several visits they'll project out your cost for completing the treatment and charge a per visit "copay" (if one is due) and you have the option to prepay for a discount. No surprises. I'm so thankful a friend recommended Dr Wells when I was experiencing severe knee pain. My knee had been getting progressively worse over 3 months' time, to the point where I was unable to walk up or down a flight of stairs. I now have had one month of wonderful treatment, and my knee is back to normal and ready for hiking season. I can't thank Dr Wells and staff enough for the care they gave to me. He also has great people working in his office; they're all very kind, knowledgeable and compassionate. It's so nice walking in the office and being greeted with kindness. Thank you so much Dr Wells and staff!
