As a guy from Winnipeg, I feel qualified to talk about haircuts the same way a survivor is qualified to talk about natural disasters.

Back home, a haircut and beard trim can easily run me $70+ before tip. So when I walked into The Barbershop Sherwood Park and found out I was paying around $50, I immediately assumed one of two things:

1. I misunderstood the pricing.
2. Momo was about to cut my hair with a weed whacker.

Thankfully, neither was true.

Momo absolutely knocked it out of the park.

I came in with a head full of wild curls, a beard that was beginning to negotiate its own independence, and a very specific vision for a wedding haircut. Momo listened carefully, understood exactly what I was after, and then went to work like a craftsman who actually takes pride in what he does.

The result? Easily one of the best haircuts I’ve had in years.

The fade was perfect. The curls were left with enough length and texture to look natural. The beard was cleaned up without looking over-trimmed. The mustache stayed full. I walked out looking less “guy who got lost on the way to a lumberjack convention” and more “guy who might actually be trusted to attend a wedding.”

What surprised me most was how quiet the shop was.

Sherwood Park, what are you people doing?

This place should be packed.

You’ve got an incredibly talented barber, fair pricing, a clean shop, friendly service, and somehow there wasn’t a lineup out the door. Back in Winnipeg we’d be fighting each other in the parking lot for this quality at that price.

So if you’re reading reviews trying to decide where to get your next haircut, stop reading and book with Momo.

And to my fellow middle-aged gentlemen: you’re already spending money on back pain, reading glasses, and suspiciously expensive barbecue accessories. Spend a little on a great haircut too.
