About Mount Royal University Recreation
Mount Royal University Recreation offers a range of facilities and services to the Calgary community, including fitness classes, pool, climbing wall, squash courts, and gyms. The university has a decent size, plenty of parking, and is accessible via public transportation. While the recreation center has its strengths, some reviewers have noted issues with the cleanliness of the changing rooms, pool closures due to contamination, and a lack of attention to detail during renovations. On the positive side, the front staff is friendly and welcoming, making visitors feel comfortable and not judged. The squash courts and pool are also praised as great amenities. However, the hot tub is currently unavailable, leaving room for improvement.
Facility is clean, well maintained, and reasonably priced. As a former MRU student the alumni membership comes with free parking and membership stoppages when away. Have been working out here for 15 years and consider it best bang for buck health facility in city.
Love it here. I have the privilege to go to MRU as well and take advantage of this facility. I have nothing but positive things to say, clean restrooms, awesome steam rooms, a big pool, a massive gym, basketball courts, a running track, I could go on…
Easily the best large recreation facility in Calgary. I also hope to get a job here come summer time 😅

Great for big muscles! After a long day at the coal factory one needs to maintain strength. Composure. Elegance. I only trust learned weights and where better than an university!! Big muscles, big minds, bigger hearts
