His deep understanding of biomechanics and rehabilitation techniques sets his practice apart, providing me with effective solutions that I haven't found elsewhere. 245 Columbus Ave, San Francisco“My experience at Sisters in Motion was excellent! I really appreciated Jennie's guidance and care throughout my orientation class. She is graceful, powerful, patient, and encouraging. I also loved all the language around expanding, taking up space, and touching our bodies as we moved. Their focus on female empowerment through movement and community is so vital.“

239 Myrtle St, San Francisco“Jill Harris is an amazing trainer, and her development of FitSprings takes exercise -- any kind of technique! -- to the next level and beyond. As someone who has studied ballet since childhood and practices yoga, working out on FitSprings lets me strengthen without being tight and heavy, and builds flexibility and my quick-twitch muscles while keeping my joints and muscles happy, healthy, and well-stimulated. (Never strained -- ever.) There isn't another workout that compares. I just attended Jill's teacher training this weekend, and the possibilities with this equipment are truly endless. I can't praise or recommend Jill Harris and FitSprings enough.“

1738 Polk St, San Francisco“Raven Pilates is a gem! It is a beautifully appointed studio in a quaint section of Polk street. The studio occupies a large space with high ceilings and every single corner has been so thoughtfully designed. The equipment is state of the art and best of all Patti teaches there and you will not find a better teacher anywhere else! My body transforms any time I study with her!“

1235 4th St, San Francisco“I have been taking personal training and small group classes at Powerplaysf since July 2023 and I have had such a great experience. Shout out to Kwanua, Daniel, Fabi, Jen, and Pudji in particular! What is amazing to me is that they offer exceptional individualized and personalized service while at the same time offering a wide variety of classes and approaches to personal training so you can experiment and switch things up. For example, I have done one on one boxing, Pilates, and weight training and small group strength and conditioning, Trx, yoga, boxing, and Pilates classes. All of the personal training and small group classes have been excellent. I've also had to travel quite a bit for work and they have been very flexible letting me make up sessions and classes or even doing personal training remotely. A few highlights: I have been taking a one on one boxing class with Fabi for several months. She is an excellent instructor/trainer. As a former overweight, uncoordinated kid, who tended to shy away from any kind of exercise that seemed "too complicated" I'm amazed by my progress! I have also been taking a Trx small group class from Daniel for several months. He is also an excellent instructor. I was definitely a little intimidated by the class description and the word "athlete," but Daniel has done such a great job encouraging me to perform my best. It feels great at 36 to really do something out of my comfort zone. I would highly recommend powerplay!“

1694 Union St, San Francisco“The Pad is a great studio! I like it because it is close to my house, parking is relatively easy and they offer many different classes everyday. I feel like post-covid, many yoga studios only offer a couple of classes a day and I appreciate having more options. It is a very calm and relaxing environment and folks of all levels are welcomed and challenged. The teachers range from very good to really freakin' awesome - there are a couple who clearly know their stuff and have a lot of experience to share.“

183 W Portal Ave, San Francisco“Working with Teacher Hye Yeon is like a breath of fresh air. She is calm yet extremely passionate about serving and helping those she can. She uses her knowledge and experience with pilates to do so.I wasn't sure what to expect when I had my first class (Sept 2023) but I left with such valuable information about focusing on elongating my breath work and adjusting my posture. Not only is she knowledgable and quick to notice small, important details about the body, I personally love having teachers who genuinely enjoy what they do and are happy to share their enthusiasm with others. Even just 10-mins with Teacher Hye Yeon will brighten your day. Her kindness, work ethic, and passion makes her a hidden gem. Anyone would be lucky to call Hye Yeon their teacher and friend!“

1452 Valencia St, San Francisco“I love EHS. I'm not usually a "sporty" person and don't consider myself to be very flexible or athletic, but I've enjoyed all the classes I've taken at EHS. There is a fun, low-key vibe and the classes tend to be small so you get individual attention. I recommend their sequences of classes for beginners so you can sample different contraptions, and I especially recommend classes with Corie and Olivia.“
6AM - 7:30PM
2652 McAllister St, San Francisco“Excellent. The whole team is informed, caring, and responsive to your body's needs. This was my first experience with Pilates as recommended by a PT, and I was a bit intimidated. They fully embraced me and helped me resolve seven years of chronic pain- and they're just great people. And there's a studio cat!“

“Holly ‘s experience as an educator, author and teacher is extensive, global and multi faceted. She has a rare combination of gifts that will come to excellent use for all of us teachers in her new venture as a Pilates business consultant and industry coach: vision, empathy and a lifetime of business and marketing acumen. Holly at Blue Sparrow is unequivocally honest and always had that intangible cool factor that we all want and that you can’t fake. She will see what makes you - you and give you the confidence to realize just that—a biz with soul.“

698 Vermont St, San Francisco“Sonya is an ace. I'd recommend working with her to anyone who is lucky enough to have the chance.I've been Sonya's student since 2019 and treat my time with Sonya as a self-care gift I give myself. I not only learn to move better physically but also become more appreciative and increasingly aware of how my body moves.I find Sonya to be an incredibly knowledgeable teacher who can break down parts of a movement to micro details that help you see simple exercises in new, eye-opening ways. For example, Sonya's instructions on how to do a simple bridge exercise are so detailed and systematic that I can now be attentive to the groups of muscles I engage in each step of doing a bridge including how and when to breathe. So when I do it on my own, I know I can do a bridge correctly and mindfully. This example may sound very simple, but the value to me is that even the basic and possibly mundane exercises become mindful movements that I understand and enjoy. And with that, I am more likely to keep exercising. As Sonya’s student I have never felt pushed to do things I may not want to or be ready for. She checks in with me every time and thoughtfully designs the session to work with me where I am that day. At the same time, she can be very tough in teaching me how to do the exercises correctly. She will relentlessly explain in different ways to make sure I get it. It’s easy to see she is passionate about what she teaches and cares a great deal about her students’ learning.Sonya’s a great teacher and it is my privilege to learn from her.“

323 Geary St #510, San Francisco“For the past 18 months, my husband and I have scheduled private sessions with Raisa and Rachel every week. My spouse had MS and wanted to focus on balance concerns, whereas I had just turned 50 and had the upperbody strength of a newborn kitten. It's a really nonjudgmental environment with clients of different shapes and ages. I was hesitant at first to do pilates because I hadn't worked out in a decade, so performing a plank was impossible. Raisa and Rachel seemed to intuitively recognize our skills and motivated us with realistic movements. This was our first experience scheduling private sessions of any kind, but it has proven to be ideal for us because Raisa and Rachel personalize each session to whatever discomfort or pain we are experiencing that week. We are also the only ones in the studio during our session, making it genuinely private. If you have a stiff shoulder in the middle of a session, they have the depth and breadth of understanding to identify the muscle in question and immediately shift you to an optimum exercise. Hubs and I were both in physical therapy for different reasons, and Raisa and Rachel had no trouble adapting and changing movements as needed. I had no idea how much core strength I had gained until I started crossfit a year after starting PIlates and was able to execute (and excel) at every core exercise with my CF trainer.“

105 Russia Ave, San Francisco“Shirley has been amazing. She has helped me strengthen my core and work on proper body positioning. Each time i leave feeling accomplished and can't wait for our next appointment. I feel better during and after a long day of work thanks to her. As much as I'd like to keep her a secret she is amazing at what she does and the knowledge she gives.“

“Scarpelli & Associates provide highly skilled and individualized care. Unlike some places, you won't be seen by a less experienced PT assistant for your care, only by very experienced and knowledgeable PTs who will assess your specific needs. All of the PTs are experts in manual therapy, which is so critical for regaining function (in conjunction with a specially tailored home exercise program). I have been to places where you just feel like the next person in an assembly line given the same treatment as everyone else whether or not it's what your body needs. That doesn't happen here. Also, the front desk staff are always very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!“

CLASSES ONLINE ONLY, 8 Dolores Terrace, San Francisco“Overall a fine stay. I came during off-season, so there weren't a lot of guests there besides me. I'm sure the place is buzzing during tourist season.Room for improvement: Staff communication in English (though I could always get help from the 2-3 English-speaking staff via Whatsapp). Also there were some celebrations from nearby retreats that caused a bit of noise in the evenings, but this was nobody's fault.Great: 3 teachers (Shubham, Neeraj & Tilak), excursions, location near river and mountainside, tasty food, retreat environment.“

Facilities are always clean, which I really appreciate, and the hot yoga room the best. Definitely try the free class if you haven’t been there, you’ll love it.“
