“When I was pregnant I somehow developed frozen shoulder in both shoulders. Not only was it incredibly painful, I wasn’t able to sleep on my side which you’re supposed to do as the baby gets bigger (sleeping on your back can lead to risks when the baby is big), so I was really anxious for my shoulders to heal and I wasn’t making any progress with just doing PT on my own. I saw Julian as I had seen him previously for a ski injury and my knee healed well under Julian’s PT support. Julian not only had me do exercises but also did hands on manipulation of my shoulders — the sessions were super painful but after a few sessions I could feel the difference and my shoulders were gaining mobility. Julian’s dry humor helped lighten the mood and the PT assistants were great at adjusting to my needs in helping me do exercises and ice afterwards. It’s more expensive than other PTs and out of network with my insurance but so worth it — each 1 hour session here was so much more valuable than 2 30 min sessions at another practice. After a few months of sessions with him combined with massage therapy, I was healed just in time for my third trimester of pregnancy. I’m so grateful to Julian for what he did to accelerate my healing, and will go back for any other PT needs“

“Maral has helped change my life. I came to her from multiple PTs at kaiser and even two out of pocket PT’s.My past 2 years plus of PT experience left me traumatized, unmotivated, and helpless and somehow I left worse then when I started. Maral listened to me and adapted my body needs. We discovered early on that I was hyper mobile, but after a while, Kylie suggested that I might have EDS. They put me on a very slow regime which was so welcomed after my previous experiences. Past Pt’s would push me past my hypermobility and try to get me in heavy weights as fast as possible, but that left me damaged with horrible sciatica.Maral never pushed me to do exercises that were causing me pain and instead helped find creative ways to adjust programs and exercises. She has been patient and really validating if I tell her something isn’t working. This was the first time I encountered a PT that encouraged me to speak up if something isn’t working and allowed me to feel comfortable doing so without shame or making me feel like I’m being too demanding or I’m not doing something correctly. Simply put, I finally felt like I had a say in my health and it was a partnership between a PT and patient, not just a clinician handing me a spreadsheet and sending me on my way.Fast forward almost a year later and I am doing way better and am way more functional than I have been in a long time. I will of course need PT for the foreseeable future as I have hEDS, but I am so happy I found a dedicated and empathetic PT that is Maral. Her gentle nature and support through my tumultuous health journey has really changed my life for the better. I have had about 6 PTs so I hope you can take my word when I say that Maral is awesome :)“

“Dr. Rabbetz has been part of my trusted care circle for over a year. What I appreciate most about Dr. Rabbetz is how thorough he is in diagnosing a problem and the follow up care to check in on how I'm doing. For example, when I came to him with leg pain last year, he determined it was in fact a tear in my hip and sent me to the best hip specialist in San Francisco. I needed surgery and coached me every step of the way, and was very involved in my recovery. His positivity, encouragement and care has gotten me through countless ailments (including neck and wrist) and I'm so thankful. Thank you Dr. Rabbetz for your healing powers, your wisdom, and for being YOU!“

Natasha Barnes Sports Medicine & Rehab Physical Therapy

“Natasha is brilliant and saved my shoulder. I injured my right shoulder in the gym doing a shouldery gaston move. It hurt like hell and I spent the following year going to 3 different physical therapists trying to recover. All of them told me to stop climbing and stop using the shoulder. Things got so bad to where I couldn't even brush my hair or chop lettuce. A year after the injury I saw a surgeon hoping that he'd have some answers. He ordered an MRI which showed a healthy shoulder, so he gave me the "there's not really anything we can do for you, try going back to physical therapy".I was pretty devastated and depressed, having lost a year of climbing, not able to use my right arm without pain, and no one able to help me. I posted on instagram asking if anyone had any advice and multiple people reached out saying Natasha Barnes could help. I hadn't thought about talking to a climbing specific rehab person, but I'm so glad I did.Natasha explained what was going on with my shoulder, why NOT using it over the last year made it even weaker, and gave me a program to get my shoulder back on track. I was climbing within a couple weeks of that first call with her. And here I am today, almost a year after connecting with her, and I'm climbing better than I ever have in my life. My only regret was not finding Natasha earlier! Seriously, if you have an injury that has been bothering you for a while, stop reading this review and just go book a call with her. She's an angel sent to us by the climbing gods.“

“I found them at the recommendation of a friend and initially came in with a calf injury and later came back for wrist pain as well. The team was extremely competent and helpful and I was able to graduate from therapy and get back to tennis and biking. I mostly worked with Micheline, Ronin, and Celine, and also briefly worked with Megan and Karlo. I wouldn't normally consider physical therapy to be a fun activity per se but I actually had a great time hanging out with the team every week.“

Elizabeth Scarpelli, PT Physical Therapy

“Scarpelli & Associates provide highly skilled and individualized care. Unlike some places, you won't be seen by a less experienced PT assistant for your care, only by very experienced and knowledgeable PTs who will assess your specific needs. All of the PTs are experts in manual therapy, which is so critical for regaining function (in conjunction with a specially tailored home exercise program). I have been to places where you just feel like the next person in an assembly line given the same treatment as everyone else whether or not it's what your body needs. That doesn't happen here. Also, the front desk staff are always very friendly and responsive. Highly recommend!“
