Mt Calvary Cemetery is a beautiful and historic place with a peaceful atmosphere. It is the resting place for many family members, including grandparents, great-great grandparents, and others, reflecting a rich family history. The cemetery features well-maintained grass and offers lovely views of the river and city. Visitors appreciate the kindness and caring of staff, especially Becky, who goes above and beyond by providing photos of graves and offering prayers. Though some headstones and gravesites show signs of age, the cemetery’s grandeur and nearby sights, like the abandoned castle foundation, make it a meaningful and worthwhile visit.
A very beautiful place where my granddaughter Cecilia and my mom are laid down to rest but before them I believe that my great great grandfather and grandmother was laid to rest I'm still trying to figure out anything about the family members to help the rest of the family members know more about our family history
Becky is wonderful - she is so kind and caring! My husband passed away and his sister wanted him buried with their parents here. Becky drove up to the gravesite to send me a picture of the markers so I could decide on my husband's marker in size and lettering.None of the family could attend the burial and Becky called to let me know the day he was buried and that her husband would say a prayer for him. I was deeply touched by their thoughtfulness and compassion.
This cemetery is like the one time forgot. Although the grass is cut the headstones and gravesites have seen better days. It is still a beautiful walk to see the grandeur of times past and to see all the history. Plus there are beautiful views of the river and city. Right across the street is the abandoned castle foundation. Worth a stop while in the area.
