The clinic offers quick and compassionate care. Doctors listen to concerns and work with patients. Appointments can be short, with wait times as brief as five minutes, and doctors are easy to talk to. The primary care team has provided family care for many years, delivering children and handling mammograms, and the pediatric doctors are gentle, kind, and good at explaining problems to parents. Nurses are praised as good and never negative. The office strives for quality care and takes time to address any issues. Some patients note occasional administrative hiccups, but overall the experience is described as happy and excellent. Separate ultrasound rooms for pregnant women and the ultrasounds can be triggering for patient experiencing loss or infertility. Overall the clinic is seen as a good place to receive healthcare with good doctors and good nurses.
Giving it two stars for the lab being much better than the lab at the physicians office but very disappointed with the pediatric portion of this office.
Before having my son, I met with a doctor here. We really liked him and decided we wanted him to be our son’s pediatrician. Once he was born, we scheduled our first check up and were surprised to learn that we would not be seeing the doctor that we met and that he would be out of the office for the next 2 months (three appointments worth for a newborn). I've had some mixed experiences at Cheat Lake Physicians, especially with a few of the practitioners there. Over time, I've seen several Nurse Practitioners and MD’s. 3 of the worse ones are Corissa McDonald, Amanda Tennant , and Nicole Tran. Their approaches weren't always the best fit for me.
My first visit with Dr. McDonald was a bit of a letdown. I'd been dealing with constant lightheadedness and fatigue for months, and right off the bat, anxiety was brought up as a possible cause, even before I had a chance to explain everything. As someone who visited my OBGYN here and someone who was visiting for a write up for a fertility clinic as I am someone who is experiencing loss and infertility, it is really insensitive to have rooms next to each other where you can hear ultrasounds with babies heartbeats. Separate the rooms. Have the ultrasound rooms for pregnant women in a separate hallway. Extremely triggering and insensitive.
