I normally do not give negative reviews but I have to make an exception with HIMG optical. I broke the hinge on my glasses and took them in on 7/9/21 to be replaced under my warranty. I was told the frames were on back order or for 15 days. After some lengthy time I had not heard from them. I called to get status updates on my glasses and each time was told a different story about why they weren’t ready. I was told the frames come from one company and the lenses from another. Someone kept measuring wrong because the lenses would not fit in the frames or the lenses were the wrong prescription or they lost one of my lenses. Then they stopped returning my calls. I had to contact the Attorney General’s office to get help. I picked my lenses up today 8/10/21 and the frames are bigger than my original frames plus there is a scratch on the top of the right lens! After all the problems they still did not get it right nor did they check my glasses when they finally came in! Please think long and hard before you get glasses at HIMG optical. The customer service is horrible and the company they send their glasses to does shoddy workmanship.
On June 18 my elderly mother fell down some big steps from the back porch and landed on the brick patio. She hit on the right side of her face. She refused to go have it checked out. However, the next day she agreed to going to HIMG Now Care. They did a CT Scan and X-ray. Nothing was broken thank goodness but the knot over her right eye was unbelievable. We saw Jama Barker and she said the scans were good and the swelling and bruising should go away in 10 days to 2 weeks. This morning Mom called Now Care and was told to come on in bc Jama was in. We thought she would get it lanced/drained and maybe get a couple stitches. We waited for about 45 minutes bf getting called back. Jama came in and said it was looking better. Mom laughed thinking she was joking at first. It had been 13 days since the accident and the knot was still as large as ever. Jama said that she needed to go to a plastic surgeon. Mom asked if there was one in HIMG and was told yes. Mom asked how soon she could see him/her and was told she needed to be patient. BE PATIENT, we have been waiting 2 weeks! We have been patients at HIMG since they were located on 20th Street. To be treated like we were today is ridiculous. She just told Mom she was fine to go out in public with that black knot was uncalled for. Mom asked for an X-ray for her right knee bc she felt that might be the reason for the last two falls. Jama didn't even address that concern. Apparently we had been "dismissed" for this visit. More patients ~ more $
I went to the urgent care at this location. They checked me in and took my vitals and then placed me in a room. I was in the room for 40 minutes and not one person checked on me. I stepped out of the room to ask how much longer it might be. The answer was we aren't sure there is one person ahead of you. Then 10 minutes later the nurse came in to tell me they were not going to be treating me today. You took my vitals and I have a fever. You are just going to refuse to treat me? Even though you know I am sick. Then when asking for my copay refund the girl that checked me in would have to do it and she was at lunch. I understand long wait times. I work in Healthcare. Keep the patient in the loop. Don't let them sit in a room for 40 minutes with no updates and then refuse to treat the sick patient. Luckily the assistant manager talked to me and agreed that this was unacceptable.
