“Lauren is an absolute unicorn. She listens to your wildest hair ideas, entertains every single one of them, AND gives you the honest truth about what it takes to get there without frying your hair into oblivion. She’s the rare combination of “yes, and—” creative energy with the integrity of someone who actually cares about the health of your hair. 10/10, would trust her with my whole head.
But Lauren isn’t just a hair stylist…she’s a hairapist. She genuinely listens, she actually cares, and she will not let you make an impulsive bang decision in a moment of emotional vulnerability without first grounding you like the responsible, loving professional she is. She will hold space for your feelings AND protect your hairline simultaneously. That is a gift. That is a calling. We don’t take that lightly.
Case in point on her skills: she recently gave my hair more dimension and softened it from almost-platinum blonde to a gorgeous soft almond beige. I am obsessed. My neighbor, however — a lovely woman in her 70s who has seen me multiple times, introduced her family to mine, and literally made me banana bread when we moved in two months ago — did not recognize me when she was introducing us to her son and daughter-in-law last week. She looked right at me (baby in arms, standing next to my husband) and said, “and who are you?” When I cheerfully announced I was my husband’s wife, she goes, “no, the other woman had bright blonde hair.” Her daughter-in-law immediately said “see, I told you” — like this had been an ongoing household debate for WEEKS.
Lauren effectively turned me into a new woman. My neighbor thought I was my husband’s girlfriend. This is the power we are dealing with.
Leaving her chair, you feel fabulous, heard, and somehow lighter — like therapy, but you also look incredible afterward, which frankly regular therapy has never done for me. It’s the whole package.
The studio itself is warm, welcoming, and completely judgment-free. Everyone there is friendly and genuinely lovely. They offer general refreshments, which is wonderful — but Lauren, babe, it is TIME to add wine or mimosas or even a signature mocktail (we can workshop names and ingredients at my next appointment) to the menu. The people are ready. We are so ready.
Also, she has a pug named Donny and that alone should get her six stars.
Studio 212 is a gem and Lauren is the reason I’ll never go anywhere else. Unless she changes my hair so dramatically that I forget who I am too.“
