Visiting friends who have a place on the island and we stopped for some tacos after cocktails. They heard rumors the food was awesome and actually open later. We stopped around 9 pm and must admit it was the best hard shell taco I have ever had. She said she finishes it in butter oil which I have no idea what that is. Go there.
We got dinner at Deer Run and played a round of mini golf. The tacos were delicious and our waitress was amazing. She was juggling a crowded patio like a one woman show and still got everyone’s orders right and filled in a timely fashion. Highly recommend!
We stopped for some food, using old info on Google indicating a biergarten. The biergarten is kaput for this summer, but Deer Run has a good menu of choices. We had pulled pork sandwiches, which were delicious. The indoor seating area is small, but, they do have outdoor seating. There's a huge lawn on the Main Road side, so if you need a place where your kids can run around a bit while you wait for food, this could be your place. There is also mini-golf. Jordan served us and even had time to share tips on her favorite places on the island. She was just one of many truly friendly people on Washington Island.
