Butternut Hills is a hidden gem that offers a great dining experience with a wide selection of cocktails and beers. The wait staff is noted to be terrific, although some reviews mention that training could improve service. The entrees, including fish specials like deep fried cod and sun dried tomato fish, burgers, and the delicious Apple Walnut Salad, are highly praised. The golf course is well-maintained and fun to play, although it can get busy with tournaments. Management takes pride in the establishment, reflected in the wonderful food made with love and the overall great service. Overall, it's a wonderful place to visit for both dining and golfing, and definitely worth a drive, even if there are some areas for improvement in service.
We had the deep fried cod with fries and the sun dried tomato fish with smashed red potatoes. Both were very good, as were our onion rings. As we were eating, I remembered that we were supposed to have a choice of cottage cheese or coleslaw with our fish. The waitress never asked, and when I brought it up, she said “oh yeah, sorry but the kitchen is really backed up”. She never even asked for our choice, so how was the kitchen to even know? She never offered to bring us our choice. Also, I saw another waitress going by with the basket of dinner rolls, which we never got. Food was great. Waitress needs training.
We had a wonderful meal at Butternut Hills Restaurant last night! I loved my delicious Apple Walnut Salad and my husband really enjoyed his Brisket Sandwich! Service was very attentive and pleasant! Thank you for a great meal! We will be back soon!
