After being dismissed and having our concerns downplayed by our previous local vet—through multiple negative tests and terrifying ER visits—we were exhausted and losing hope. Unlike our local vet we have used for a few years now who brushed off our intuition, Dr. Tremelling actually listened. She took our suspicion of blastomycosis seriously from day one, recommended a chest X-ray, and suggested sending out the proper urine sample. Sure enough, Boone tested positive for blasto, finally giving us the diagnosis we needed to start treatment and get him on the road to recovery.

Was to Blue Pearl Emergency Clinic in Port Washington after 2 pm on August 3, 2026. Our elderly cat, over 16 yrs. old, was having trouble eating & drinking.
Pros: was able to get in for an appointment because it was an emergency, receptionist, staff, veterinarian were all caring & great.
Cons: was about 4 hrs. before we were reunited with our elderly cat. Our cat was waiting in a room away for us. Vet said our cat was looking around. Since our cat was not bleeding or struggling to breathe, we should have been able to stay with our cat. If the staff needed to do some tests, they could have asked us to step out of the room. The staff at BluePearl Pet Hospital in Port Washington were phenomenal! Every single one of them was friendly, supportive and very knowledgeable. No regrets for taking our precious Buford there to have surgery. He had to stay overnight and the staff was available to us 24/7 to check on him and/or ask questions. I would recommend them to anyone!
