I am a homeowner and had a small job (less than $100). Through a referral from our plumber, we made an appointment with T & L Electric ("Thunder & Lighting") one evening and made appointment for 8:30am the following morning. They were here lickety-split at the designated time and day. They did the job in 15 minutes. Courteous and communicative. I will keep their business card, put their business details in my contact manager, and call on them for when we are ready to put additions on our buildings. I recommend T & L. In another state, my previous experience was that 90% of contractors couldn't be bothered with what they perceived would be a small job. So many contractors were like this, I lost count. Dozens. Many of this category couldn't take two minutes to give a courteous call back to prospective clients ("I am sorry but we are too busy the next couple weeks. Here is a reference to this other company") or such. We finally only were able to hire contractors through a real estate agent who also functioned as a general contractor. It was very disheartening. How is one supposed to maintain one's home over time? Small contracting businesses never know when a small job gets them a big job months later ($ tens of thousands)! T & L Electric started out as the fellow's (drat, I didn't catch his first name) father's business. Family-owned and operated. Located New Glaris, Belleville area.
