This firm did the work I needed but has poor communication practices when employees or CPAs leave the firm. The CPA overseeing my account left the firm and then I was never told for months until I come into the firm to find out. I had to wait until Aug 24 for them to get my return work done. I even came in the first week in Jan 24 to turn over for business statements for a simple business return expecting the work to be done timely.

For the amount they charge clients they need to do much better!

I had CLA Hudson do estate tax returns for my parents, who had Trust accounts. Chris knew exactly what to do, and provided me with a list of forms and information that would be needed. He talked with my parent's financial advisor, and everything was handled in a timely manner. CLA could have filed an extension, as I contacted them only a couple weeks before taxes were due, but they completed everything before the deadline. They promptly sent me copies of the returns by mail. I was very pleased with their work.

I've worked with CLA for my tax return over the past few years. But after this year's return, oh. MY. Goodness. A $400+ request for their services, which equated to almost half of the total return. I'm not going to call them scammers because they are very professional and thorough with the work they complete. However, this seems extremely unethical and and should've been communicated beforehand. I don't know if they charge on a case-to-case basis, but consider this my final year of working with CLA. Thank you for your efforts.
