My father was given 1 maybe 2 weeks to live. We were give a comfort pack of meds and informed that a nurse would call to schedule a visit once per day. We were also given a phone number to call 24/7 for any questions or concerns. We received nothing until I called on day 3 of my father being home due to a noticeable decline and frequent pain. It was not until day 4 that nurse Maria was sent to "fix" the situation. She was absolutely amazing. She asked us questions, held a meeting with all family members present, wrote out instructions, and made sure we felt comfortable with the plan going forward, etc. The chaplains were wonderful also.
