About Academy of Beauty Professionals: Green Bay
Academy of Beauty Professionals in Green Bay is a beauty school that offers a variety of services, including haircuts and coloring. Several reviews highlight the positive experiences with students and instructors, noting that students follow directions well and receive good guidance from instructors. Customers appreciate the friendly and engaging staff, and many are pleased with their results, such as haircuts that match their requests and hair colors they love. The school provides a supportive environment where students are attentive and eager to ensure clients are happy with their services. However, some reviews mention challenges faced during the educational experience. There are concerns about bullying, racism, vaping in performance areas, and issues with supplies and cleanliness. Some students report that instructors can be rude or show favoritism, and that there are inconsistencies in teaching, especially related to preparing for licensing exams. Limited practice opportunities, such as selling products or offering water to clients, are also noted as drawbacks, though some students found the study materials helpful and performed well on their boards. Despite these issues, the school maintains a reputation for having talented students and good instructors. Overall, it seems to be a decent place to learn and get beauty services, especially for those who understand the school's environment and are looking for affordable, quality work done by students under supervision.
My experience was rough going to school here, but there's pros and cons at every school/beauty school out there. But the bullying, racism, vaping in performance area, not enough supplies for everyone, very messy and teachers sometimes are rude-pick favorites or even talk about their private sexual life to students and than the Boards are not up to date or fixing broken or frayed things. But even studying for the Boards was hard due to instructors and board teaching...read full review
Made an appointment to get my haircut here on a Friday morning. I know this is a beauty school, and my haircut would be done by a student, but I also knew that the instructor would be right there. J arrived and was met by Elle. She was friendly and engaging. She started with a wash, then when I explained what I would like to have done, she called her instructor over who gave her some advice and encouragement and away she went. She explained she goes slow, but I didn't mind at all because I understood she was learning and being attentive. When she had a question about something or needed some advice, she would call over her instructor. In the end, my hair looks just like I asked, shorter with layers and thinned out. I am glad I came and I will be back for another haircut and other services.
When I arrived for a tour, hoping to be a future student however, I have asked to see if the school would have nights, weekends or even part time available? Unfortunately, they do NOT. If I recall, the admission lady was very polite said that they are open mon-fri 8am-4pm and Saturdays only? In one week you have to complete a certain about of hours, done in 6months. As a full time worker and a full time mom, hours will not work. If you're interested in coming to this academy, please be sure to be available during the day. I wish there would have been more classes available for those who have a full time job and being a full time mom out there. Most instructors and students...read full review
