Run, don't walk...or better yet dance on over to Birch Creek to experience other worldly steel pan artist Victor Provost for his last night. It was hard to stay in our seats. Love, love, loved his original works.
The campers and counselors put on separate performances. I was floored at how well the camper ensembles did, quite a bit better than the few high school ensembles I have seen. The counselors were professional players... and amazing. Worth the drive from anywhere on the peninsula to see this. They play in a converted barn and it sounded so good. The horns and woodwinds in harmony, the guitar comping and improvising, the vocalist on her numbers, it was all top notch.
Excellent musical performances from the combined faculty and high school students. The whole experience is very nice. Plenty of parking, a pleasant setting, and a stage in a wonderful old barn.
