We just picked up a beautiful male Golden Retreiver puppy from Sun-Golden Kennels. You can tell that Mike and Sharon Long (Owners), care a great deal about their dogs and who they let purchase their puppies. I am very particular on breeders, I did not want a back yard puppy mill. I did a lot of research before I filled out an appliation to get on their list. They come highly recommended. Once the puppies from your litter are born, Mike takes daily videos of the puppies playing. There is a virtual live visit with the puppies. I know some people do not like the fact that the Mike and Sharon select your puppy for you. However, I have owned 2 Golden's in the past, and can tell you that the most quality breeders do it this way. They know the puppies better than you and each time, the Golden that was selected was perfect for us. I would highly recommend Sun Golden Kennels if you are looking for a well breed Golden Retreiver. Oh, I have read some reviews of people being upset about the long waitlist. I put my name on the list on August/2021 and could have had a puppy within the time frame Mike and Sharon have indicated on their website. I even deferred a number of times, since we were not ready yet to select a litter. I also was impressed with the amount of information on their website. I would say probably 90-95% of my questions were answered from looking there. When I did have a question and emailed Sharon, I was given a response within a day or two.
We had such a great experience getting our puppy from Sun Goldens!! We were always kept up to date when litters were born. For our specific litter, we were kept up to date constantly, from the first ultrasound all the way to the day of puppy pick up! Sharon answers all questions and gives you so much information, we felt so prepared for our pup. And our pup is absolutely gorgeous, and so well tempered. If you’re looking for an ethical, reputable breeder, I highly recommend Sun Golden Kennels!
