I never leave this place disappointed. Tanita will give you best experience whether it’s for hair, waxing etc. she will thoroughly go through her process and make sure what she’s doing makes you happy for the most sufficient results!

I needed a complete hair cut so my right hand could have some more time to heal from a Carpal Tunnel Release Surgery. I had been getting hair care with Cost Cutters who were shut down as COVID affected their business in Medford, Wisconsin...I managed to obtain some styling gels and shampooing hair was a burden each week. As fixing my hair each day, ortho arthritis pain really kicks in which just the brushing hair after laying down to sleep or whatever. Relief for the snowy season ahead. Olivia, my stylist was the greatest as to the steps of getting the bald is beautiful look.

Tanita is fabulous—so personable and really knows hair! The salon is adorable and offers other services too like massage and tanning. What an amazing gem for our little community!

I would like to formally introduce myself, I am Tanita Mills, owner of Hair On The Square. I am originally from Medford, WI but now reside in the Athens area. I graduated from beauty school in Eau Claire, WI in 2012. I have had a passion for hair for as long as I can remember, and I wouldn’t change my career for the world. Hair is something I’m very passionate about and could never give up on. I listen to my clients’ needs and provide honest feedback. I pride myself on my work and continuing education.
