“Dear WeMeraki,
I am writing this to offer a deep, long-overdue apology. Years ago (pandemic-ish), I came into your shop to get back to my platinum blonde. For 18 months, other salons had failed, but your stylist finally gave me the exact color I wanted. I was so grateful that I tipped her $50 on top of the cost (I thought maybe it wasn't a big enough tip for a while) and I truly felt I had finally found a stylist I could trust.
However, I couldn't understand why every time I called afterward to be seen, she repeatedly refused me or passed me off to someone else.
I recently finally asked why my hub thought she would do this and I was devastated to learn the truth.
At the time of my appointment, my health was deteriorating fast, and we were doing everything we could to learn what was wrong. (I was bouncing from 12yo to 90yo with dementia)
The day before my appointment, I had even come into the salon with electric monitoring nodes all over my head from neuroscience center testing.
I was dealing with constant non-epileptic seizures, chronic migraine, short term, loss of motor skills, memory loss and SEVERE pain. To manage this, I was put on heavy medications. And had underwent a minor daily testing that morning and was given temp meds.(Which I had warned about before coming)
What I didn't realize until now was that those medications had made me considerably elated and high.
Because of that state of mind, I ended up being unapologetically open to a complete stranger, speaking out loud about bad things that no one should ever have to experience or hear about—things I don't even talk to my therapist about.
My hubby was there and tried to stop me a few times, knowing this was completely unlike me, but I just couldn't stop. He said it was as if I thought she had to know everything of my past. Things I normally couldn't speak about without getting physically sick at that time.
I am so deeply sorry. Truly.
If this is what caused her to refuse me service in the past, I completely understand and am profoundly sorry.
I would normally never come forward like this out of sheer embarrassment, but I have recently been asked to speak on a large platform about my past, and I'm positive it will lead to more of my story being told locally and online. It's ugly. But people think it will help others. Idk. I just know I'll try.
When we were doing my hair the subject of that stylist was brought up. And he told me why he thinks she won't work with me.
Embarrassing as it is, it is my mistake and I want her to know that while I can't take it back, I am grateful that she considered my condition and kept taking care of my hair. That she wasn't rude or unprofessional. (Hubby said she was fabulously kind)
I felt it was vital to reach out and make it clear that this is not who I usually am.
Even though it's been years, I promise to keep the shop off my local hire list and not to bother the shop or ask for her anymore.(I think we called last summer)
I just want you all to know how truly sorry I am, that your shop is amazing, and that you have a very talented stylist.
Truly remarkable.

Please relay the message Im sure she will know who you speak of as not many girls come in with a monitoring system on their heads. I am also obsessed with plants and was going to exchange plants with the shop! (prior to the word vomit.)
